Cloverfield - 4/5

I usually don't like these types of films and haven't since I was a kid, but I was impressed by the story, technique and atmosphere.
Would have liked it even better if the main characters weren't a bunch of whiny rich kids.

All Things Must Pass

Sad Tower Records is gone from the U.S.

Colin Hanks did a great job with this.

The Beginners Guide to Sex

A shame it was ignored by the Academy.

I hate that cover art "Never a dull moment in the entire documentary" is just, an odd comment.

Bridge of Spies...it was ok. I don't think Spielberg did enough to ratchet up the tension that should have always been there. i thought a lot of it was contrived and while a good performance, Rylance's Abel was not Oscar worthy. in retrospect i think based on acting performance, Ruffalo should have gotten the Oscar.

For once a comment on a poster is right and I was not really bored during any scene.

Ruffalo did more work and probably deserved the Oscar mor

All Things Must Pass...a very, very detailed account of the rise and fall of Tower Records. good docu. just a little too detailed and intimate for me. liked the cameos and nostalgia of it all, but it wore off fast. still worth checking out if you remember that time.

Mr. Right (2016) - Sam Rockwell is an assassin that has decided to start killing the people that try to hire him, as this signifies a winding down in his career, he tries to win the heart of a bubbly and sociopathic woman played by Anna Kendrick. They're on the run from Tim Roth's character, among others. Max Landis wrote this stupid, short and mostly enjoyable flick.

Remember Me, My Love - 2.5/5

Italian melodrama about a dysfunctional middle class Italian family that starts to fall apart when the father meets an old flame at a party and sparks start to fly. Feels like a stylish European variant on American Beauty with lots of flash and a mediocre script.

John Carpenter's Village of the Damned

The new featurette with the cast and crew is phenomenal. Thomas Dekker is hilariously blunt and I love how he called the Nightmare on Elm St remake he was in a piece of shit. It was also great to see that the girls that played the alien hybrid children grew up to be hot women.

That wasn't the only piece of shit he was in. VOD is IMO bottom of the barrel Carpenter.

The People Under the Stairs - had not seen this in years - the Arrow release is excellent and wow, there was tons of subtext in the film and it wasn't a full on horror film neither. Good to see Everett McGill in there.

I'd have to think about that but due to him being my favorite director of all time - I'm highly biased. I'd still like his bottom 5 films. Although I've never seen Memoirs of an Invisible Man or Dark Star.
