Kurt & Courtney - 3.5/5

Filmmaker Nick Broomfield interviews friends and family members of the late Nirvana front man and his widow. Good low budget doc that is anything but a fluff piece, focusing more on the dysfunctional characters and environment responsible for this toxic relationship.

Benghazi Nice solid intense war flick. Surprised Bay could put together something this decent

Everly (2014) on Netflix. This film feels like a bad (and unintentional?) homage to everything that was wrong with action flicks from the late 80's/early 90's (particularly the increasingly menacing and ridiculous waves of "international" bad guys), but Hayek still looks amazing at 48.

Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead: The Story of the National Lampoon on Showtime.

A pretty good documentary.

No Way Home

It looked generic but was actually pretty entertaining

A Little Chaos on HBO

Alan Rickman directed and maybe this was his last or close to last movie?

The Homesman - 4/5

In the mid 1800's a spinster in her early 30's takes on the task of transporting three mentally ill women across the treacherous Nebraska Territory to Iowa. Before embarking on her journey, she saves the life of a wreckless drifter in exchange that he accompany and assist her with the women. Interesting story that deviates from the typical western with some solid direction by Tommy Lee Jones and another great performance from one of the most underappreciated actors, Hillary Swank.

Better than I remembered, and noticed more than a few Fincher-moments. Not a great movie, by any means, but a bit unfairly chastised too.

I don't read books but the movie still sucks

Music Within

Michael Sheen could have won a Oscar for this though it was ok but could have been a lot better and an injustice to the story of the guy this movie is based on.

Girlfriend - 3/5

Having nowhere to go after the death of his mother, a man with down syndrome tries to live on his own. Given an advance on some inheritance money, he tries to solve the financial problems of a former classmate who is a single mother with a violent jealous ex. Decent film about the things people do to take advantage of the weak and the price that comes with it.

Getting Off - 2/5

Three female friends confront their sexuality when a gay male friend of theirs is diagnosed with AIDS. Well meaning but very preachy and melodramatic
