Re: Worst of the year 2012
Amazing Spider-man.
Made me feel that the Sam Rami films weren't all that bad when originally I thought they were mediocre at best. (Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben was good, however.) Expendables 2. Unending explosions. Darling Companion. Irritating characters. The Hunger Games. Worse than a bad acid trip. The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Old people not being funny in a draggy, overlong movie. (And I'm an old person!) Lawless. Plot-wise it was a mess. And the acting chops of Shia. Yuck! (I thoroughly enjoyed Prometheus, but I watched it at home on a 3-D set-up and watched the deleted scenes which made the movie make better logical sense.) |
Re: Worst of the year 2012
Hey, I have a movie-minded buddy who considers Skyfall, Ted, Hunger Games, Spider-Man, and The Dictator among his least-favorite movies of this year as well, so it doesn't seem far-fetched to me (he loves Silver Linings Playbook, though).
Nothing wrong with that, even though I disagree with a few of 'em. |
Re: Worst of the year 2012
I was disappointed with Prometheus and Amazing Spider-Man. Can't call them worst films of the year though. I think it has to be Battleship but I skipped that.

Re: Worst of the year 2012
I don't hate Prometheus; overall my feelings are extremely mixed. But it was quite disappointing. I only brought it up because I felt MIB3 -- and I've NEVER liked an MIB film, or anything by Barry Sonnefeld -- turned out not to only be a better movie, but a damn entertaining scifi flick. It succeeded at what it set out to do infinitely better than Prometheus did. And that surprised the shit out of me.
