Trying to remember a stop motion feature
I'm trying to find info about a stop-mo feature that was an "arabian nights" type of story. I recall seeing TV commercials with shots of a character on a flying carpet. It was released in the 1970's, but may have been produced earlier. I think I might have read somewhere that it may have been produced many years before, but only recently released... or maybe re-released. Not sure.
No recollection of the title, characters, or names of voice actors. I think Vincent Price may have voiced the villain... and for some reason Mickey Rooney's name also comes to mind.
Any stop-mo fans have info on this? Usually, I'm the sort that would know this, but all I have is this rather vague memory of the TV commercials. Nothing in my library stop-mo material has any reference.
I remember really wanting to see it, but at the time I was a full time student and married which meant being very selective about entertainment.

Re: Trying to remember a stop motion feature
It's not stop motion, but Vincent Price did a voice in a similar sounding animated flick called "The Princess and the Cobbler" aka "The Thief and the Cobbler" (1993). It was a long in the making traditional animated movie directed by Richard Williams ("Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" animation director).

Another thing I recall, while writing this, is that it might have been a foreign film. Maybe a Russian or eastern European country, since they have a history of stop-mo filmmaking.
