Denzel Washington put out a great performance. I have a feeling he'll go up against Daniel Day Lewis at the Oscars next year.

I liked the whole movie until the end when it became all Terms of Endearment-y.

Solid film with some really good performances. But I didn't understand why the NTSB was pushing to make Whip throw Katerina under the bus and what that would have accomplished? She wouldn't have been responsible for anything had he lied about those 2 bottles unless they were going to take away her work comp benefits? They had already proven the faulty part was cause for the crash and that Whip was able to do the impossible in his reaction to bring the plane down the way he did. On top of that, we never really see or find out what caused Whip to become an alcoholic. Unless it was some kind of PTSD from flying in the war. Guess we'll never know.

Because they still had to account for that extra vodka bottle. Every other stone was either uncovered or couldn't be touched due to his records being sealed/inaccessible.

You do realize she died in the crash, so worker's comp is a non-issue. They were tying up all loose ends. But he had to defend her honor because he loved her and couldn't tarnish her memory.

She still gets full death benefits from work comp.

Huh, thought that was what life insurance was for.

Not when you're on the job. Work comp pays not only medical, but primary death benefits as well. Sure, personal life insurance covers some of that, too. Think of it as work comp takes care of your salary. Life insurance is everything else.

For a second there I really thought he was going to tell one last lie to get out of that mess.

Really good film, Washington is a shoe in for a nomination. I haven't seen Lincoln yet, but I imagine it'll be between DDL and Washington for Best Actor.

Love Denzel and Flight.... but DDL hands down. Not even a fair fight.

Great character study. That about sums up my feelings. Recommended.
