Victory!! Alamo Drafthouse tickets for Saturday with Commemorative Glass and Magazine.....at 3:48 am...
Good thing too, since I was apparently not the only one waiting around, only a few showings left throughout the weekend. So that makes 3 showings for me (one on the biggest screen, one with free stuff and one with the best food), dang I love reserved seating!

I keep doubting this movie because of the Prequels, but I have to say that after each trailer it looks really good. I still think its crazy to go in with expectations that it will be as great as Empire or Star Wars, but that doesn't mean it can't be a really good SW movie.
I use the analogy of the Rocky Franchise. The Original is the best and has that 'magic' that the other movies lack. But the sequels (with the exception of Rocky 5 are all entertaining). If TFA can be as good as Rocky 2 or Rocky 3 was, then I think MOST fans will be happy.
Of course there will always be someone who complains, but that's just the internet.

I like the approach with the trailers. Show us enough, but we really don't have any clue what is going on. I hope it all is a glorious wonder when seen for the first time. Surprises amok.
Was able to get my ticket for an 8pm showing on the 17th.

Great trailer...just a little of a lot of the parts while not giving much away. If there is one thing I'm wondering about it's if "Luke" will make a reference to Darth Vader being his father especially where that one part being made "I will finish what you started"...in other words will those two meet.

I truly cannot wait to see this movie. Each trailer has been great and still is holding back a lot on the storyline, which i am very happy about. I am gonna be there day one showing.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the lens flare in the trailer yet, lol!

Good trailer, and I'll see it, but I'm not like all my friends who are preordering tickets left and right.

Don't blockbusters open up on so many theaters these days that the supply for tickets always meets the demand?
The last movie I remember having to wait to see for almost 2 weeks was Batman '89. That was the days before multilplexes and my friend and I would keep riding our bikes up to the mall each night and hope that it wasn't sold out.
By The Phantom Menace in 1999, I had a multiplex in my town and we had no problems getting tickets. I actually remember we went that Friday Night and there were so many shows that the theater was half full.
I dont go to many blockbuster movies anymore, but I assume nothing has changed as it shouldn't be that hard to get a ticket to TFA the first weekend if your town has a load of movie theaters?

I didn't do this with the first teaser... but I just went back to read some reactions to the first teaser for TPM. at Ain't It Cool.

I gotta bad feeling about this...

I don't like to sound a sour note in the midst of this fanboy love in (and I certainly don't want a load of abuse for doing so) but some things are troubling me about this trailer. Granted visually it look fantastic (on my computer) and I'll forgive some of the CGI looking fake, That shot where the kid is in his buggy thing and he hits a lever and suddenly it goes twice as fast? Uh what's all that about? it reminded me of Road Runner. Why do people always do that in movies, it's like they're going flat out in a car/motorbike/plane/etc., racing someone, and then they push some lever or press harder on the accelerator and woosh, they're going even faster. Why didn't they do that before! it's like "I'm going as fast as I can, I wonder what happens if I press this lever..." zoooom "oh, I didn't know it would do that" Obviously it's Lucas' movie and he can do what he likes in it... it's just that I can't abide cuteness in movies, it has the same effect on me that microphones dropping into shot do, and like that, there's just no excuse for it. Lucas is after all the man who decided in retrospect that Han should fire second, that Aliens popstars sing funky disco numbers, jawas falling off speeder bikes is funny and that Ewoks are cooler than Wookies! And I'll tell you something ELSE! All this stuff with council meetings of aliens, and the Naboo style being half oriental and half Georgian... I can't help but wonder if Goerge has been watching a bit to much Babylon 5

I wonder if they will announce just how much they are making opening weekend from just the pre-orders.

I don't know if they'll announce exact $$$ figures.
I did read one article from Australia that said they sold $1 mil worth in the first hour.

On a side note, I think I'm done with checking spoiler/movie news sites until I see this flick. Don't get me wrong, hanging on every new tidbit that gets leaked is personally a huge part of my enjoyment with this series... but (while frustrating at first) I kind of love the fact we're less than two months from release and I still only know the gist of the plot with some major holes left to be filled in.

I am not a Star Wars fan but the trailer actually got me interested and a little excited.
Maybe this film can actually wipe away the foul, foul stench of the prequels from my system.

Yeah, I'm not a big Star Wars fan but I liked Abrams take on Star Trek, which obviously wanted to be Star Wars, and since neither Orci nor Kurtzman (nor Lucas) have anything to do with it -- there's a chance this might actually be good.

When's the Asylum version coming out and how many actual Star Wars actors can they get to be in it? (Billy Dee Williams, Jake Lloyd...your agent is calling!)

Got my tickets for 2D at a premium theater with assigned seating for 7pm. Perfect. I don't have midnight showings in me anymore and I hate fighting for good seats. I am officially excited.
