No. The "new canon" is currently two novels (the Rebels one and Tarkin), the Darth Maul comic, the 6 movies and the two CGI cartoons. Everything before that is Legacy.

The report says that Lando is mentioned...it doesn't say he appears in the movie.

Maybe Max Von Sydow is playing Tarkin? Is he the right age? Seems odd that one of the early "new" books would be about Tarkin unless there's something Disney knows that the rest of us don't. Then again, why Han and Leia would have Tarkin (or Boba Fett for that matter) looking after their kid is a head-scratcher.

Tarkin wasn't about to evacuate the Death Star in their moment of triumph...

It would be a pretty big retcon if he survived.

"Evacuate in our moment of triumph?"

Yeah, I don't see that at all.

It might explain why half his body is a cyborg, though. His body was thrown free of the blast.

I love me some Star Wars, and the execution may have been fine, but seeing it written out like that had me laughing out loud. We used to do that as kids playing with action figures - "Bang, your guy is dead!" "Well, his brother just came in!"

Also, Blind Fury comes to mind

How is his body breathing floating around in space?

Sydow is NOT Force sensitive!

So back to Boba Fett.

I'm gonna guess it's Biggs who somehow managed to survive being blown apart during the rebel attack on the first Death Star.

Spoiler:
Shmi Skywalkers secret lover. Retcon the virgin birth!

Seriously, I don't think anything works. If it was someone from the prequels, I'm sure most of the actors would come back. Eh, probably not Terence Stamp. I think I read he was pretty pissed about acting to a tennis ball or something.

Nope. It's Porkins!

Episode VIII: Return of Porkins

Then Disney will release the Special Porkins Edition of the OT that contains new Porkins scenes like in the video below.

That just means he doesn't care about the Force's feelings and constantly treats it like crap. Which keeps the Force coming back while complaining that it can never seem to meet someone nice and sensitive.

Every alleged plot detail I've read is different. I will wait (for over a year!) until I see the movie to find out the truth.

If Max Von Sydow is truly
Spoiler:
playing a character from the PT and not just someone whom was alive in the PT Era but not seen or mentioned in the PT, then here are my five guesses:
1. Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas
2. Cliegg Lars
3. Boba Fett
4. One of the clones, long since defected.
5. Captain Antilles

It's all rumor and speculation. If we can't openly talk about that in a thread about the film and need spoiler tags at this point, what exactly about treatment we supposed to talk about? How we'd like to see it? I want to see it. Anyone else?

Spoiler:
I don't think Chewbacca will have a robotic arm in the movie. The guy who wrote the report probably included it because of the concept art that leaked a couple months back. The more legit sounding reports indicate he's still the same old Chewie.

I think MakingStarWars had an article speculating Lupita's character is an alien with the codename "Rose" who runs a cantina/bar. If anyone is playing Boyega's love interest, I'm betting it's Ridley. I think there could even be a love triangle with Oscar Isaac (assuming he's not playing her brother).

I'm fairly sure Driver will be wearing a mask at some point in the movie. That photo that Star Wars Underworld leaked last month showed a Darth Reven style villain holding the new cross-hilt saber. He's probably hiding his identity from the good guys, since it looked like Driver was on set in a X-Wing pilot uniform at the Greenham Common shoot (though it could have been an extra with the same build/hairstyle).

Revan-style mask would be cool in this.

But none of those characters would bring about the "wow" factor (as speculated) except for
Spoiler:
Boba
. The others we have no knowledge of - for the most part.

It probably wasn't an airtight seal. They did make sure his body functions were still working properly.
