Re: Your favorite Bond title theme?
Here are the three openings of the mostly instrumental credit sequences...
Dr. No credit sequence (although I tend to associate this one more with "Three Blind Mice" than with just the James Bond Theme):

From Russia With Love credit sequence:
<iframe width="400" height="225" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Y952TRNBvDw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
On Her Majesty's Secret Service credit sequence:
<iframe width="400" height="225" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/N8XNBpIkQpU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I really like these and even kind of wish that there will one day be another Bond film again with just an instrumental-only credit sequence.

Check out this old footage of Tom Jones singing the Thunderball theme back in the '60s. This version sounds great!

A View to a Kill ranks as #1, I'm a big Duran Duran fan. I also think it was the last memorable theme.
Although I did rush out and buy a 45 single (who remembers those?) of For Your Eyes Only when it was released.

If I had to rank them by Bond:
Connery: You Only Live Twice
Lazenby: Na doy...
Moore: Live & Let Die
Dalton: The Living Daylights (by default, as both his themes are forgettable)
Brosnan: Tomorrow Never Dies
Craig: You Know My Name (but Skyfall might take it's place quickly)

I love the Licence To Kill theme. It's my favorite part of the movie.

A few more alternate Bond songs...
This is the original recording of the song "Goldfinger" sung by Anthony Newley, who co-wrote the song:
<iframe width="250" height="188" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Tm49WkfAL-Y" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
And Shirley Bassey recorded the song "Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" to be the main theme for Thunderball:
<iframe width="250" height="188" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/j4m9ptFefwo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
...but then it was re-recorded by Dionne Warwick (not sure why this was done because her version is not all that different):
<iframe width="250" height="188" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/wDFmHXzcbGY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Ultimately, it was decided that the movie's name should in the theme song's name, so that's when the song titled "Thunderball" was commissioned for the movie.

For your Eyes Only
Yeah it's a cheesy 80's Pop ballad, but it featured a, hot, young Sheena Easton in the opening title sequence singing the song.
The title sequence pretty much doubles as her music video for the song. Although I know there is another version with clips from the movie as the "Official Music Video"

after listening to Adele's Skyfall...I'm about ready to admit that that's my favorite Bond theme. Really like the lyrics and well...fucking everything else too.

BTW, the band Blondie was originally considered for performing a "For Your Eyes Only" theme song and even wrote a song for it (that only showed up on one of the band's later albums):

Re: Your favorite Bond title theme?
That's because film title designer Maurice Binder was so enamored with Sheena Easton that he decided to put her into the opening titles sequence.

Re: Your favorite Bond title theme?
I wonder if that's revisionist history, as at the time of the movie's release, I seem to remember a story going around that it was the only way Sheena WOULD do the opening song (if she appeared in the credits). But the "internets" seem to agree with your version.

Re: Your favorite Bond title theme?
There are quite a few good/great themes, but my current favorite is the OHMSS theme. When that Moog kicks in, its just plain cool.
And the new theme by Adele, I heard that and thought to myself "This sounds like a classic James Bond Theme."

Thought I'd bump this in case anyone else wanted to vote since we're getting closer to the release of Skyfall.

Guess it was predictable that Live and Let Die would be the top choice
