Mark Millar Will Oversee Fox's Marvel Films
From Deadline:
LOS ANGELES, CA. – September 27, 2012…. Marking an expanded commitment to some of its most important franchises, Twentieth Century Fox has brought on comics superstar Mark Millar to serve as a creative consultant on the studio’s upcoming projects based on Marvel Comics properties.
Millar wrote several celebrated Marvel books such as The Ultimates, Civil War and Wolverine: Old Man Logan, before moving on to found Millarworld (millarworld.tv), where he continues to develop existing film franchise titles Wanted and Kick-Ass, as well as newer comic properties The Secret Service, Superior, and Nemesis — the latter also in development at Fox. Millar will work with Fox on developing new avenues for its “X-Men” and “Fantastic Four” tentpoles.

Cant Marvel/Disney just stop bullshitting and do a buy out?
Or Millar will run it into the ground for free.
Heh. X-Men/FF Crossovers
Or Millar will run it into the ground for free.
Commented TCF production president Emma Watts: “We are excited to be working with Mark. In addition to his groundbreaking Marvel work, he is simply one of the most original voices in comics today and will be an invaluable resource to us and to our filmmakers as we look for fresh opportunities to innovate within our shared Marvel universe.”

So does this mean Avengers 2 will have Horny Hulk wanting to smash Freddie Prinze Jr and Captain America screaming "Surrender? Surrender?!? You think the letter on my head stands for France?!?"
They are saving Ultimatum for the third movie.

I'm indifferent since he's done stuff that I like (Civil War, Kick Ass) and stuff that I didn't care for (Old Man Logan). It's fun to watch people act like its the worst decision ever though.

Yeah, Mark Millar consulting is no big deal. It just means Fox will announce dozens of movies that will never be made.

I hope every movie has a scene where the characters discuss which actors they would want to play them if they made a movie.
Also I hope Mark Millar dies in a fire.

I have no opinion on Mark Millar because I've never read a Mark Millar comic. So, I'll respond with a resounding "I Guess So!"

Disney spent 4 billion on Marvel. The Fantastic Four and X-Men movies have grossed a combined $2.5 billion worldwide. When you factor in how much they've earned from merch, I would think Fox would want at least that much to get them back.

But he won't be associated with any of these characters, right? Who does Fox have the rights to currently? Xmen, Fantastic Four. Daredevil? Ghost Rider? I can't remember who has who, except that Disney has all the Avengers stuff now. So at least he won't be able to touch those.

Fox has X-Men, Wolverine, and Fantastic Four.
Sony has Spider-Man and Ghost Rider
Fox lost Daredevil, Lionsgate lost Punisher.

Well he can't do too much harm after X-men 3, Fantastic Four, and X-men Origins.
Though I guess those are on par for me with Thor, Captain America and Iron Man 2.
Man there's been a lot of shitty Marvel movies these last few years.

They really aren't. Critically they're more highly rated, especially when compared something as bad as Elektra... Though anytime Thor was on Asgard it rivaled it for cringe worthy cheese.
A case could be made for IM2, since it was a competently made albeit tremendously dull prequel for The Avengers.
