Mark Hamill is 61 today...

...and holy cow that makes me feel very old. I can still clearly remember seeing Star Wars for the first time when it opened. Time flew on by like a hyper jump.

That means Carrie Fisher is also 61 today, right? They are twins after all.

Perfect age to play a wise old Ben Kenobi-like Jedi in Episode VII.

If you really want to get your mind blown, Mark Hamill is now the same age Alec Guiness was when Star Wars started filming in 1976.

Hope he goes out and buys himself something very special. He can certainly afford it considering he's been charging fans over $100 for an autograph at Sci-Fi conventions.

Why should he not charge for his signature?

He's welcome to do whatever he wants, but I wouldn't pay over 25 for anyone's signature.

That's 25 bucks more than I would ever pay for someone signing their name.

I wouldn't pay for anyone's signature. However, I see no problem with him charging whatever he wants for his as long as someone is willing to pay.

Re: Mark Hamill is 61 today...

Yeah, I know he played Luke Motherf***ing Skywalker -- but $125? And another $75 for a photo with the guy? Talk about exploiting your fan base. Of course, no one is holding a gun to these people's heads when they fork over their hard earned cash (I too have paid for autographs on occasion), but it does seem weak that he's resorted to charging such a ludicrous fee for a signature and a little face time. Carrie Fisher was right next to him and only charged $50, which is still pretty steep. Makes you wonder if the IRS is aware of these shows.

But back to the main topic: I am a fan and do wish him a very happy birthday.

He was on an episode of Chuck and I couldn't figure out what character he was... turns out he was in the opening sequence and looked older that shit -- completely unrecognizable!

Hey now, $50 will buy you a decent bottle of booze!
