I hope you're not paying too much to import them all.
I think I'm going to grab this and the T2 variant.

Since this isn't concrete, I thought I'd just post this here. Nice that Urban still believes in it.

Karl Urban wants a DREDD series for Netflix or Amazon Prime
A few months there was a fan petition started to get to continue Karl Urban’s version of Judge Dredd as a TV series. That petition got over 145,000 signatures, and Urban is completely on board with the idea. He backed the petition along with co-star Olivia Thirlby, and the actor is continuing to push the concept of keeping the story of Dredd rolling forward as a TV series.
The first movie, which was written and directed by Alex Garland, was a damn good film, and I thought Urban was awesome in the titular role. There’s been talk of a sequel for some time now, but I believe a TV series would be the best way to keep this franchise going.
Urban is keeping the dream alive for fans and recently tweeted that he’d totally do a series on Netflix or Amazon. It was sparked by a fan-made image of what Dredd 2 would look like on Netflix. This is what the actor said:
@KarlUrban Karl Urban Retweeted SteJay
Dredd 2 : I'd do it !! @netflix or @Amazon . There's a gold mine of Awesome Mega city 1 stories !
Hell yeah, there's a gold mine of stories! Seeing what Netflix has done with Marvel, there’s no doubt in my mind that a Dredd series developed by Garland would be incredible. Someone who has the power to make this happen has got to know that this is a great idea and that it shouldn’t be ignored, right?!

I LOVE this idea. Bring on the Cursed Earth, The Judge Child, Chopper, The Apocalypse War and of course the Dark Judge Saga. It would be incredible.

I enjoyed Dredd, and a Netflix series would be a good fit for the character, which seems to struggle to find a mainstream audience. It might require a bigger budget than something like Daredevil, because of its futuristic setting, no?

The movie itself was fairly low-budget; nothing too extravagent in it. Probably wouldn't be too difficult to do as a tv series. They might have to cut back on a lot of elaborate stunts or action set pieces. The movie was sort of a cyberpunky procedural, and that could probably be done on a tv budget like Man in the High Castle or The Expanse.

The movie only cost $45 million. And was filmed in South Africa.
To be honest... Dredd could have been done for TV just w/ what we got. Whatever outside public environments actually used... wasn't much really. Otherwise... I guess it was a set or some cheap location to build upon.
I didn't know this but from Wikipedia is showing is that Urban went to Garland for direction instead of Travis. I mean, I knew the whole issue w/ Travis and the editing exilement or whatever but didn't know Garland was THAT much of a on set presence for the project. Kind of a shiitty thing but it ended up being a fucking great movie w/ what they did w/ it in the end. Whatever.
Urban was great though. I really loved that scene where Anderson describes Dredd as she reads him. It's short but says a lot about Dredd giving him more layers that kind of lay out his foundation in a way. Very small scene but adds a lot.

I don't think Garland would come back to direct - maybe the pilot but not the rest. He's big fish now since Ex Machina.

Two of my high school mates were stunt men on this (one being the stunt double for Karl Urban and the other for one of the rogue judges...the one Dredd has the fist fight with) and they used to fill me in on filming. It sounded like they had a blast making the movie.
I personally loved the movie and only had one small gripe. Mega City One is supposed to be such a massive City and whilst i seemed spread wide in the movie, the Blocks themselves seemed to be very far apart. As messy as the Stallone movie was, they got the look of the city down to a tee. Very Blade Runneresque in being dark and gritty.
I grew up reading 2000AD and their is such a gold mine of characters that could be turned into amazing movies (Rogue Trooper, Strontium Dog, and Slaine probably the most notable, but many stories like Button Man, Zenith and even Flesh could be awesome. Nemesis the Warlock is one of those characters i would love to see made into a movie by someone that really wants to hit it out of the park, but kinda way out there in look and story to make it an easy sell to the general public). Judge Dredd has had soooooo many great stories that could be made into a TV series. The perfect thing is that i could envision it being like an X-Files show in structure. By that i mean that long running storylines can be threaded throughout the series, but so many one shot stories that could be made into individual episodes. So many one shots in the comic, and one that still sticks with me for some reason is a guy who is apparently invisible and robbing banks. The judges set up traps and he always eludes them. In the end they find out he is using a machine that slows time and in the end he gets shot by Dredd just before he activates the machine and even though Dredd is running to try and save his life, hours have passed for him and he has bled out by the time Dredd turns off the machine.

Somes sites were "reporting" that Urban said a Dredd 2 was in development.
When asked again today, Urban shot that shit down w/ saying that it ain't even close to happening as far as he knows.

Dredd w/ Karl Urban is on Hulu
I love this movie so much.
i feel like this film hasn't been shown much in streaming or cable pre-streaming boom. But i could be wrong.
