As a huge zombie fiend, I am compelled to pick 28 Days Later. Save your "waaaahhh, they aren't zombies!" complaints.....

Re: Your favorite Danny Boyle

My fav Boyle film is Sunshine. And it was close to being a damn near perfect Science fiction film..but then it changes genres. So so so soooooo close. I still love it and think the change there at the end doesn't affect it's overall quality but it sure as hell fucks it up as a near perfect genre piece.

I like it, just not more than 28 days later or Trainspotting.

The "waah, they aren't zombies!" complaints are made by huge, massive nerds. Anyone who can't let "zombie" slide when anyone else describes 28 days later needs to shoot themselves in the head.

I'm going to have to go with the one that falls apart in the third act.

always loved this film. everything else he has done has been mediocre, including Sunshine and Trainspotting.

Re: Your favorite Danny Boyle

Trainspotting is his best, but Shallow Grave is my favorite. Sunshine started his slide into mediocrity, Slumdog confirmed it.

My thoughts exactly. Yes, the third act is a complete 180 from the rest, but that doesn't make it a bad film by any means. It's not perfect, but it's absolutely my favourite because it's so enjoyable to watch and experience.

Exactly. I happen to enjoy the third act just as much as the first two.

The strong acting, direction, cinematography, score - all brings such emotion for me. Amazing film.

Re: Your favorite Danny Boyle

I haven't seen all his movies but looking at that list it's impressing how he's able to drastically change the genre while still making quality films.

Re: Your favorite Danny Boyle

Boyle looks like Morrissey. Trainspotting, Shallow Grave, and Sunshine ( minus the last 15 mins )

I feel like it totally ruins the film. The movie goes from a 10 to a 1 pretty fast and never recovers.

+1

What could have been a memorable and cult hit became standard studio fare rather quickly, and ultimately forgettable.

You know, aside from the whole genocide thing, I'm sure Pol Pot was a nice enough guy once you got to know him.
