Cage confirmed!

From Sly's Facebook:

THE EXPENDABLES 3:
We are preparing the film with the same passion and commitment as the previous two. We have confirmed Nicolas Cage, a master actor who gives a veneer intellectual group. Hopefully we can realize to Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes and Mickey Rourke. That is the great mission of the producer. We will continue with the same narrative scheme, the agility and the frenzy, which are inherent to the saga. What will definitely be the last? I can not guarantee. In principle it would be two deliveries, but the affection of the people encouraged us to work on a third. I guess as long as we amused ourselves by offering fun and people, we can continue playing 'The Expendables'. For now we are not as expendable as it should and as some critics want.

Is Wesley Snipes already out of Prison? I wouldn't mind seeing him in Part 3...he could probably use the money.

He gets out in July. So this could be his first role post prison.

Re: The Expendables 3

Sylvester Stallone has told Deadline that previous reports of the "Ghost Rider" star's involvement in the action sequel are false.

The Facebook page that had posted the news of Cage's casting is apparently run by a fan and is not Stallone's own "official" page.
I'm sorry for Nic Cage news, is not true. I have only included the items that i had read..i'm really sorry for to have disappointed. I'm not Sylvester (is also written), i'm LEO CAMPLONE a fan like you. The page will be closed tomorrow. Thanks all for your support. Keep Punching!

Re: The Expendables 3

yeah I saw that the Facebook page was fake. The guy who runs it says he's deleting it tomorrow. I bet Sly's PR people told him to delete it or get sued.

Jackie Chan Confirms Role In The Expendables 3

The news comes from a press conference for CZ12 in Kuala Lumpar and was reported by Cinema Online (via ComingSoon). Apparently Sylvester Stallone has been chasing Chan since The Expendables 2 and is now going to get his wish. When asked about his possible involvement, Chan had this to say:

Sly had invited me to be in Expendables 2 but I was too busy filming CZ12 and couldn’t make a commitment to the film. But he did extend his invitation to the third movie, which I agreed on the condition that I will be appearing as more than just a minor role with a few scenes.

In Chan’s discussions with Stallone, the possibility of making The Expendables 3 a “buddy-buddy movie” (like a buddy movie but with even more friendship) apparently also came up, and Chan said that Stallone seemed amenable to the idea.

Yeah, as much as I've enjoyed these films - they are for celebs who have nothing left to sell. Ford and Eastwood have a lot more to offer than laughable cameos in these. That said, Cage would still fit right in...

Re: The Expendables 3

I can't wait for Jackie Chan to kick four guys in the face during the opening, then parachute back to China never to be seen again.

Re: The Expendables 3

Sly tweeted:

@TheSlyStallone: No , I was kiddiing about , but seriously , what about Mel Gibson directing EXPENDABLES 3? Opinions anyone ? Curious.....
The " I was kidding" part was about a previous joke tweet about Gibson directing EX5.

Expendables 3: Geriatricheart?

Why the hell not?

But only if Mel is the lead villain and teams up with Claude Vilain for the finale.

And Jet Li must kill Mel as payback for Lethal Weapon 4.

Every franchise needs Donnie Yen. Instead of more ninjas in G.I. Joe 3, how about Donnie Yen as Quick Kick?

BINGO!!! Expendables 3 will be as useless and awful as Expendables 1 and 2. These people are not even remotely believable as bad asses anymore. They're just sad, desperately hanging on to their glory years.

Re: The Expendables 3

I think Mel would make a great director for expendables 3.
