Leaked trailer at link...it'll be gone soon. Looks silly, but I trust Aronofsky to bring something unique to the table.

It looks damned good but this worries me:
I hope they don't tinker with it.
Did dex14 go to that test screening? I'd love to know what he thought of it.
The Darren Aronofsky-directed epic stars Russell Crowe in the titular role, and has had a very public battle play out of late between Aronofsky and Paramount. According to The Hollywood Reporter, test screenings in New York, Arizona and Orange County have been met with criticism, and Aronofsky refuses to make changes to the already $125 million+ film. It remains unclear whether Aronofsky retains final cut privileges on the movie or not.

^ Sure looks like it. The music sounds like something off of a Christian rock band compilation album. I think Aronofsky has made what he wants to make and Paramount wants to have a "Passion of the Christ" level hit for Easter. I have a feeling his final product might not play well to church crowds and they want to cut it to make it a family event.

Based on the trailer, it's clear the movie will play fast and loose with the Biblical account of Noah. Although, speaking as a Christian, that's fine by me. The story of Noah has zero conflict and would make for a very boring movie. This re-imagining seems far more compelling.

I can't wait for The Asylum to announce the title of their knock-off of Noah.
Or has that already happened?

I hope there is a scene where the dinosaurs refuse to get on the ark explaining why they became extinct.

Aronofsky is the one and only thing that will put my butt in a theater seat for this.

I have a feeling that everyone committed to seeing this movie will lose all interest if the studio takes the final cut away for Aronofsky.

As a believer who is really looking forward to this wave of Biblical movies coming up... I'm both relieved and a little let down by the trailer. I'm glad it appears to be in-line with the core aspects of the story, but a little disappointed it's not more edgy/different. Guess we'll have to wait and see what it's like...

Re: Noah (2014) D: Aronofsky S: Crowe
The trailer shows an army led by Ray Winstone (playing a son of Cain, no less) leading an army to invade the ark. And we also have Noah actually interacting with people outside of his family. The Biblical account simply has him speaking to God and having his immediate family build the Ark with him. It's plenty different from the original story given there's actual conflict, Noah actually interacts with other people, and apparently there's even an action sequence just as the flood hits. Outside of having Noah wield a sword and develop God-given super powers to fend of the Raiders of the Ark, I fail to see how much more different it could be.

Too bad they aren't going with the Bill Cosby version - I'd actually SEE that movie.
"Noah, it's the Lord."
"Riiiiight!"

I can't be the only one who thought this looked pretty bland. I don't see this being a huge moneymaker or having legs like Passion of the Christ.

I thought Crowe was impersonating Donald Duck's performance from Fantasia 2000. Not impressed by that. I'm also thinking we're going to get another movie like the Fountain. Which could be a good thing - or not.

Will there be a Noah action figure? Ark and animals (2 of each) sold separately.
