Oh crap, you're right. They'll start getting suspicious otherwise.

Only one person can like TDKR, after all.

We should create a checklist for what makes a Fanboy. That way when someone is acting like a fanboy, they can't bitch about being called out on it.

Re: The Avengers vs The Dark Knight Rises

I don't get the logic that I "have to" compare TDKR to the eventual Avengers 3 to see which movie is better?

Does that mean I can compare Avengers to Batman Begins then?

I voted TDKR but I'm beginning to regret it now...

Sorry guys. Avengers was just a movie.
TDKR was actually about...er...stuff.

Cause their choice is losing and good points are being made.
That always gets a certain group upset.

Re: The Avengers vs The Dark Knight Rises

I didn't vote because the two films are so different it's hard to compare.

The Avengers is certainly more ambitious (I can't think of anything like it in cinema history) and a better "popcorn" experience. TDKR is better from a "cinematic" perspective.

There were easter eggs in The Avengers, as well.

Avengers, no contest. Nolan is a hack.

Re: The Avengers vs The Dark Knight Rises

Wait, so what does it mean for one's fanboy street cred if they appreciate both The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises?

Are they elevated to the status of über-fanboy, or do both cancel each other out and leave the person as some sort of pariah? I don't understand the rules.

Yeah, I picked Avengers but still really like Rises. I'm so confused at my nerd status.

I never said there wasn't. I am just trying to wrap my brain around the idea that loving one big budget summer superhero movie means you're a fanboy but loving another big budget summer superhero movie means you're not.

No matter what kind of high art you think it is, TDKR is still about a billionaire who fights crime while dressed as a bat.

We could start with someone obsessed over something (we'll go with a comic movie since that's this thread). Then break it a little further to not seeing that most people really do like BOTH MisterMovies, but fanboy guy/girl just goes into bitch mode for some nitpicks (that's where the discussion comes in for most people and the 'you all just suck' comes in for others. nitpicks are the tiny things and discussion points for movies that people like). And then you get the added emotion of saying how ridiculous a thread is, but still keep posting:

Yeah, I do. Evidently, you aren't familiar with all of its possible meanings.

World English Dictionary
evidently (ˈɛvɪdəntlɪ)

— adv
1. without question; clearly; undoubtedly
2. to all appearances; apparently; ostensible rather than actual.

What a joke.

So when using a word in a sentence people have to take into account all it's possible meanings and apply them?

I think most people here understood what I wrote. Then again you're young.

One should be aware that their words could be interpreted differently among different people, and use more concrete grammar when attempting to get their point across. But, that may be a foolish belief of the young.

And not the old and arrogant.

Evidently.

You're the only one that seemingly didn't understand the sentence.

Anyway I'm done going back and forth. Have a good day.

Based on your own opinion.

I never even said I didn't understand it. I was just pointing out your terrible use of grammar in an attempt to be clever.
