Yes you are the 3rd person to say that, at the time i was all over it but now wish i could be Dr. No or something.
1970s Pink Panther trilogy:
Return of the Pink Panther
Pink Panther Strikes Again
Revenge of the Pink Panther
Wow a lot of great bullshit "trilogies" in this thread so far.

not one of the best, but I like what Gus Van Sant did with his death trilogy. Consider this an honorable mention.

If you looked at the imdb trivia for Fistful of Dollars, you'd find
"Originally called "The Magnificent Stranger", the title wasn't changed to "A Fistful of Dollars" until almost three days before the movie premiered in theaters. In fact, nobody had bothered to inform its main star, Clint Eastwood, of the change, and as a result Eastwood remained virtually unaware of the positive buzz surrounding the movie until an agent pointed it out to him in a Variety Magazine article three weeks later."
The working titles for the other two films referenced The Magnificent Stranger as well.

My apologies to Dr. Mabuse.

I would like to fantasize the ROCKY saga only being:
ROCKY
ROCKY II
ROCKY III
and Rocky's story ends with him at the top of his game. AND Apollo Creed is still alive.

I kinda like how Rocky Balboa gives that definitive end to Rocky's story. Can't we add that in and call it a quadrilogy?

ROCKY BALBOA is a good movie, but I don't like how Rocky's poor again (or less well-off).
At least in Rocky III, the Cinderella story was finally complete.
But Rocky VI is a good movie. (I like the Rocky/Marie story)

Excellent point, and I agree with BttF in that regard. I love 3 even though it's not as strong as the first two but it's still a damn fun movie.
With that same thought in mind (and ignoring the obvious LOTR/SW:OT) I'll say:
The Bourne Trilogy: Identity is probably the weakest but it's a damn fun ride that's only weak because of two superior films following it. Also despite the forthcoming Legacy, I think it's safe to say this still remains a trilogy given the break from Damon.
I think the only other one of recent memory is the Toy Story trilogy. The third falters a bit, but makes up for it in the end.

As an overall trilogy, gotta go with Bourne. Love every one of them. Every other trilogy I can think of has at least one movie that I'm not crazy about.
