I'd love to see a Chappaquiddick movie that spans the party, the incident and the immediate aftermath.

It would probably cost a fortune to make, but I would be interested in seeing a Chinese period drama about the building of the Great Wall of China. That would truly be an epic production IMO. You could cast the who's who of Hong Kong and Mainland China cinema to star in it.
Considering it took about 2,000 years to build, I would say the best part to focus on for a story would be the 1st part of the wall that took 9 years.

I'm surprised Oliver Stone never tackled Lyndon Johnson as a movie subject. Very few presidents go through such a maelstrom in their time in office.

I'd love to see a movie about the Zimmerman Note.
The British intercepted and decoded a telegram from the German Empire to Mexico during WWI offering the return of the lands of Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona in exchange for an alliance against the United States. This revelation was one of the big factors of the US joining WWI.
I always thought that was interesting in school, but it's never been spoken about in film as far as I know.
Plus there's not enough WWI movies.

I have always wondered what Bob (Caligula) Guccione's sex epic about Russian Empress Catherine the Great would have looked like.

Yes more WwI movies. In some ways it was more interesting than WWII, the fighting in Africa was all over the continent, the myth of angel of Mons, the rulers were related from Queen Victoria.

There was one movie about part of the war in Africa, Shout at the Devil. It was about the German cruiser, SMS Konigsberg that was hunted down by the British in the Rifigi delta. But that was all bullshit.

I just finished reading a new book on the war in Africa in WWI. That would make a great movie. The German government even paid the their African soldiers years after the war. They needed proof that they actually fought with Von Lettow-Vorbeck and wanted paperwork before they would pay anyone. However almost none of the soldiers had any paperwork. So someone came up with a brilliant idea. They handed a broom handle to the claiments and ordered them through the German manual of arms. Those that were able to do it were paid.

There have "loosely-based" movies on practically every historical event.
I don't think they ever had a movie based on the murder of Johnny Stompanato.
The daughter of Lana Turner stabbed him in the stomach when he was fighting with her mother. She was eventually aquitted for the murder. The daughter, Cheryl Crane, wrote a book about that, and her upbringing, called "Detour", in the late 1980s. No movie was ever made that I know about.
A true-crime movie about the crimes of Harvey Glatman would be cool - he took pictures of his female victims before he killed them (telling them to "look scared"), then he'd take pictures of them after he killed them. When he was finally caught, the pictures were very hard to look at, because when you were looking at the "live photos," you knew these poor women were dead before they themselves knew they would be.

What's a broom handle? There was also other crazy stuff like the Zeppelin that flew from Bulgaria halfway in Africa to supply them, fighting continued even the endinEorope, a battle that was broken up by bees and generals of opposite sides met for tea. Shout at the devil is withRoger Moore no? There is fascinating stuff besides the African queens.

It was around this time that Fish began to indulge in self-harm. He would self-embed needles into his groin and abdomen.[10] After his arrest, X-rays revealed that Fish had at least 29 needles lodged in his pelvic region.[10] He also hit himself repeatedly with a nail-studded paddle and inserted wool doused with lighter fluid into his anus and set it on fire.[13]

The DC Sniper story. It was chaos around here for those few weeks, everybody was running in zigzag motions in the parking lots, gas stations put up huge tarps blocking the view of the pumps, white box trucks were getting stopped and searched. The entire area just stopped. It could be a good Zodiac type movie, except this time spoiler alert...they caught the guy.
