Scorsese is still very solid. Loved Shutter Island, just don't see tose type of films anymore.

It's simply going to be more and more difficult to shoot on film in the future, particularly if you want to stay employed in Hollywood. The costs are drastically cheaper once you consider workflow and other aspects. In a few years I doubt "film" schools will be teaching anything but digital shooting.
