The Human Fly Movie (Marvel Comics Character) in development
From Deadline.com
The Human Fly might be buzzing around a movie theater soon, as a film about the former Marvel Comic character is in development. A Human Fly comic, based on real-life stuntman Joe Ramacieri, was licensed and published by Marvel from 1977-1979. Over its 19-issue run and in various other Marvel comics, the Human Fly had run-ins with Spider-Man and Daredevil, among others in the Marvel stable. Alan Brewer and Steven Goldman picked up the reverted rights on the property recently. Eisenberg-Fisher Productions, which is based on the Paramount lot, will executive produce the proposed indie, with financing said to be coming from private-equity sources. Goldman is poised to direct. Brewer, along with James Reach, will produce. Tony Babinski, Cirque Du Soleil’s in-house historian, wrote the Montreal-based screenplay. Goldman is repped by Michael Lewis & Associates and Anarchy Management. Brewer and Babinski are repped by WME.
Not much details about this. I'm sure this will go through development hell before it actually gets cast and filmed. Not familiar with this character. Will this make a decent super hero movie?

Human Fly!?! Wow! That's a bizarre choice.
I remember liking the costume a lot when I was a kid.
The second Human Fly was a young man of unknown identity who was severely injured during a car crash. After a long hospitalization, including a number of reconstructive surgeries in which much of his skeleton was replaced by steel, he took on the masked identity of the Human Fly. As the Human Fly, he performed daredevil stunts to benefit various charities, especially those helping children with disabilities.
His activities often drew him into conflict with criminals, who were often seeking to rob the charity events at which he performed. Additionally, he drew the attention of Spider-Man, who thought he might be the villain of the same name.
The character was based on real-life stuntman Rick Rojatt. The comic book carried the tag line "The Wildest Super-Hero Ever — Because He's Real!", and photographs of someone in a Human Fly costume appeared in the books. Jim Shooter, a high-ranking member of Marvel's editorial staff at the time of publication, said in 2007 that the photos were indeed of Rojatt.

I never even heard of this guy. The only Human Fly I know was an old Spider-Man villain.
If they want to use an obscure character that would actually make a cool movie, they should use Darkhawk.

But my guess is Disney isn't willing to give up any characters, even Darkhawk,to Eisenberg-Fisher Productions.

I always liked Darkhawk because he reminded me of the Silverhawks from the 80s. It makes me sad that Darkhawk fell into obscurity while crappy characters like Carnage became massively popular. Darkhawk was one of the few things Marvel did right in the 90s.
You know its a really obscure character when I haven't heard of him. To be fair though, I have always been much more of a DC fan, so I am not really as familiar with a lot of the more obscure Marvel stuff.
I just had another idea.... an Arm Fall Off Boy movie!

I had several of the first Human Fly issues.
I cannot wait for a ROM movie.. maybe Hasbro and Marvel can collaborate.

But I think Hasbro actually has the rights for ROM. So that's the basis of my statement. I just think he should be some how set into the Marvel film universe if it were to ever happen to give a ROM movie the best possible chance to be a cash cow.

It could be like Avengers, introducing the members of Dwayne McDuffie's Teenager Negro Ninja Thrashers one film at a time:

Yes, Parker Bros. owns ROM and have yet to see a potential in a relaunch.
I'd love to see a Nova feature film. Maybe we're headed that way with Guardians of the Galaxy?

Marvel's version of Godzilla. It was pretty much SHIELD vs Godzilla the whole series until the end when the superhero teams took him on in NYC.

The Fly comic book was a POS. I'm pretty sure most people who didn't read comics didn't know who the fuck Blade was before that movie came out.

"James Cameron's ROM" would pretty much be the greatest thing ever. Not just movie, but actual greatest thing ever created by mankind.

Nova would be a great counter to mediocreness of WB's Green Lantern. Just change up his origin a wee bit and make it epic. he could have great potential. Also...let him have his current costume. He's never looked as good as he does now.
