Triplets (sequel to Twins) S: Schwarzenegger, DeVito, Morgan

yikes! How about just a remake with The Rock and Charlie Day? Those are the two I'd imagine having the best chemistry.

"Twins" sequel: two words you probably never thought you'd read this side of April Fools' Day. Yet there you are.

According to THR, not only is a "Twins" sequel in development with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito attached to star again, but Eddie Murphy could join them too. Get ready for "Triplets," y'all!

Little is known about the potential sequel beyond the fact that Schwarzenegger and DeVito would return as mismatched twin brothers, Julius and Vincent. Murphy would star as the twins' third brother.

The original comedy was released on Dec. 9, 1988, and grossed over $216 million worldwide on a scant $15 million budget. "Twins" might be best remembered for providing Schwarzenegger the opportunity to reach a wider audience; up until then, the burly star had exclusively appeared in action films. Following the success of "Twins," however, Schwarzenegger would star in other comedies like "Kindergarten Cop," "Junior" (which reunited him with DeVito) and "Batman & Robin" "Jingle All the Way."

For Murphy, "Triplets" could provide the much-maligned former icon the chance to regain some popularity. Murphy hasn't seen one of his non-animated films gross over $100 million since "Dreamgirls" in 2006; three of his last four non-animated features have grossed under $20 million, including the recent misfire "A Thousand Words."

Per THR, no director is attached as yet. Ivan Reitman directed the first film.

This is the the worst idea ever.

Arnold has never been funny, the first movie was embarrassing, it's 24 years later...and they're going to trot out this bloated corpse of a concept for a second go-around?

Even by Hollywood standards, this a really scraping the bottom of the barrel.

The first movie had its funny moments.

I'm all for Arnold returning.

They all deserve to be in a movie together.....and fail miserably.

I'd like to trash even the idea of this. But honestly, I'd watch it opening weekend.

The first one wasn't embarrassing - it was awesome.

I thought the first movie was cute. But seriously? A secret third brother that was not mentioned even when all the details of the babies were revealed in the first movie? Hollywood is really reaching for plots these days...

If he's going to do a sequel, why not Commando? Maybe Alyssa Milano can grow up to be some sort of military/government agent whose own child is taken, and she enlists her dad to help her rescue his grandkid and together they go kick some ass. As for another Twins, ehh, I don't know...

^ Plus, I think Rae Dawn Chong's schedule is pretty open.

They need Vernon Welles to come back as Bennett's long lost brother out for revenge all decked out in leather Rob Halford style.

I love how Batman & Robin is a comedy. Good stuff.

Why would anyone WANT Eddie Murphy in their movie? While he's not exactly box office poison, he certainly isn't any kind of draw. I would think this would make more money without him than with him.

DeVito probably needs the paycheck. Last time I saw him he was slumming it on some weird cable show.
