Did this get released in 2012 or early 2013? Seems like this would have been obvious Oscar bait, but it looks like it got little buzz and was released with no fanfare or publicity.

Another case of a book that just doesn't work very well on screen. Not terrible but just depressingly inert compared to Kerouac's words.

I somehow managed to be an English major with a fascination with the 60s and never read this. Have to get around to it one of these days.
