Will any of these stars ever win an Oscar?
The main actor I had in mind when I thought about this question was Brad Pitt, but there are a number of other great actors who haven't won either. Do you think of these will win a Best Actor Oscar in their career?

Was this supposed to be a poll?
Brad Pitt will win a 'career' Oscar in about 15 years for an above average performance in a movie that's mediocre.

For the most part, they all have a shot. They're good, well respected actors and are capable of winning it as long as they pick the right role.
Of those listed I think Dicaprio has the best shot but only because he seems like he's trying his hardest to win one by picking all the Oscar bait type roles.

At least Clooney has one for supporting.
I wouldn't be shocked if both Clooney and Pitt got one for directing or producing or something like that before they got it for best actor.

I think all of those guys have the chops to win an Oscar. I assume many of them will.
Bale won Supporting last year, so you can take him off the list.

Re: Will any of these stars ever win an Oscar?
Brad Pitt: eventually, probably similar to Al Pacino for Scent of a Woman, where it was 20 years too late.
Edward Norton: not sure. He doesn't seem to be in favor right now.
Liam Neeson: outside shot in a supporting role, a la Christopher Plummer.
Leonardo DiCaprio: the intriguing one on this list. I don't know. He's touted as a good actor, but I get the impression not many actually believe it. If he's going to win, he probably needs to do it within the next 5-7 years, before the strong actors just under him in age (Gosling, Gordon-Levitt, etc) catch up.
Christian Bale: I think he gets one as a Lead Actor to go with his supporting statue.
Gary Oldman: see Neeson.
Joseph Gordon Levitt: yes, he's young enough and on everyone's radar. He'll likely win in a few years.
Tom Cruise: no.
Hugh Jackman: I don't think so.
Johnny Depp: 50/50 chance.
Ralph Fiennes: maybe, but has better chance winning one as a director/producer.
Matt Damon: don't think so.
Sam Rockwell: would have to catch lightning in a bottle.
Bill Murray: no.
Robert Downey Jr: 50/50 chance.
Edward Norton: not sure. He doesn't seem to be in favor right now.

I picked Pitt. He's gotten better and better over the years and he's wiser at picking roles than some of his contemporaries. It's only a matter of time before he gets a role that's a slam dunk for an Oscar. Joseph Gordon Levitt has a good shot sometime in the future. If I had to bet I would bet against Depp, Damon or Downey ever getting Oscars. They're more-than-competent performers and have consistently proved that they can certainly entertain audiences on a regular basis---which is why they remain top stars--but I don't see them losing themselves in a role the way the best actors do and the way the Academy tends to reward. I'm always aware that I'm watching Depp, Damon and Downey doing their schtick--again, this is not a criticism, it's what movie stars do--yet when Pitt takes on a role, I believe him. In TREE OF LIFE, I totally believed he was that Texas working man/angry father-and-husband. Now that I've seen clips of MONEYBALL, I now wish I'd gone to see that in theaters. I was very impressed with Pitt in those short clips.

Re: Will any of these stars ever win an Oscar?
It all depends on the role, the movie, and the point in their career when it occurs. There's nobody on that list for whom it would be impossible to win an Oscar.

A little confused by the thread. The title says "win an Oscar" but the poll says "win a Best Actor Oscar" which are 2 different things.
I will vote once you get the poll fixed.

Re: Will any of these stars ever win an Oscar?
Bill Murray should already have one. Were it not for the most pathetic aspect of the politics, and 'begging for the award' that goes on every year, he would have won that year. The extent of the campaign by the person who won that year was sickening. That one still bugs me.
But... Oscar is rarely about skill or talent. It would be nice if Oscar was even about a list based on skill and talent that one had to be chosen to win from, but it's not even about that either.
Lot of talent in that list, they all have a shot.

OR.... every role he has will be compared to that one role that he didn't win in and they would ask themselves "Is he better in THIS role?" It would have to be pretty exceptional to garner a nomination, much less a win. As much as I'd like to see him win, I think his chance has passed him by.
