I find it comforting that The Vow made more than Safe House.

No, episode 1 makes The Fast and the furious series look like works of art.

I'll be the first one to say it...George Lucas is a genius that raped my childhood.

^ Oh yeah? If you're not a Star Wars fan how come your sentence structure is strikingly similar to Yoda's?!

Explain that, fanboy!

I'm a Star Wars fan (not the extreme type, though) and I have peace of mind. George can release his movies, just like anyone can release movies, and I choose to either watch it (or buy it) or not to watch it (or buy it). It's not that big a deal. Not to sound like a fan boy, but as George has said "It's just a movie."

and episode vi in that same category of crap
Bullshit!!! Return of the Jedi is a thousand times better than all the prequels combined.

I'd also like to know how The Vow made 41 million dollars. Jesus!

Surprising boxoffice this weekend. Where did this come from? 40+ million for a chick flick, almost 40 for a Denzel movie (they generally do low 20s) and even 27 for Journey 2 all are just surprisingly strong.

I'm the same way. Though it does seem like it's more than a movie, doesn't it? It's a multi-billion dollar franchise selling cartoons, action figures, video games, and everything else you can dream up. Something like "American Graffiti" is just a movie.

It surely has become an industry, so to speak. But in the big scheme of things, they are all just movies.

Again, the issue comes down to Lucas not making the OOT available. I don't think people would have these kind of complaints if they could watch the unaltered versions in high quality. Again, Blade Runner is a great example. I can see five different versions of that in HD.

Good to see The Descendants reach $70 million. Showing some good legs during expansion.

MI4 has also reached $653 million worldwide. Sherlock 2 has now earned $502 million ww.

You have to wonder why he is so adamant about not releasing the OT in a normal quality Blu Ray? What is the bug in his ass about that and also coming out with something as inane as Han never shot first?

Hugo's total budget was a whopping $190 million and it's just reached $93 million WORLDWIDE. I wouldn't use the word decent describing box office with that film.

Even if Lucas released the OT on Blu ray, I'm sure there'd still be bitching. It would be something like some people wanted some of the effects fixed some wanted nothing changed at all.

There are some amazing fan edits that give us what is basically the OOT with the few technical flaws smoothed out, but it shouldn't be up to fans to do that kind of thing.

Besides the window thing in Cloud City what else was there that could be reasonably be ok? Wasn't there the eyes of The Emperor?

There's one guy who actually composited new effects if he didn't think the elements Lucas used looked good enough. He released A New Hope a while ago, and has been working on Empire for a while.
