Re: Paranormal Activity Series

Didn't care for any of them, but dig the success story that have become. All it took was 15k and Oren Peli made the big time. It's like he became the Robert Rodriguez of horror. Then again, he hasn't actually directed anything since the first film, so.........

I didn't like the first one all that much but liked the second and third one.

I didn't really care for the ending of the third one since it didn't make a lot of sense, but up to that point it was scariest in the series, IMO. But to me, there's always something scarier about kids in peril vs. adults in peril.

How many of these do you think they'll make? I guess I'm waiting for the eventual Ultimate Complete boxset

I have to admit I do like the two prequel idea. Theoretically, the next installment could be another prequel (the events of 1994) but I'd be surprised if it isn't the first sequel.

As many as it takes to run it into the ground and people stop paying for it.

I dunno when that may be. With such an incredible return on their investment I can see them putting these out like the American Pie movies. They've spent something like $8 million on these and have made $575 million. That's just unreal. If these continue to cost around $5 million to make, I think you could make a profit on them until the end of time.
