IMO Blade >>> all the X-movies.
Blade 2 >>> all the X-movies except X2 and FC
Blade Trinity is right around X3 in the craptacular department.
Wolverine is still bottom of the barrel.
And yeah, Blade sort of kicked things off but really, it was an action/vampire flick rather than a Marvel superhero movie. I'd agree that X-Men (2000) really lit the fuse for Marvel movies, and Spider-Man solidified it.

Yeah, Blade was noteworthy at the time for being a hit for Welsey Snipes. Most people didn't even know or care that it was based on a Marvel property.
X-Men is what really made comic book properties seem lucrative again.

It's not about what the audience thought Marvel meant as a brand, it's what the Movie Studios saw when a Marvel-branded movie did well.
Before Blade, almost all comic properties were in some sort of production but they never got greenlit. When Blade, a property that was completely unheard of to the mainstream audience and was rated R, did 75 million (Not an insignificant amount in the 90's), all of a sudden you started to see movement on the superhero front.
That's why Artisan Entertainment did a huge deal with Marvel before X-Men was released in theaters.

I do give X-Men some credit for bringing some credibility back to comic based movies but I think it was really Spider-Man who made the studios take note truthfully.

Blade was fun, wonder what would've happen to Norrington's career if it'd continued i that direction. It was ahead of the curve on even The Matrix in terms of incorporating Hong Kong and anime elements to a certain extent. It has its problems, but it's pretty fun. Being a big GDT fan, I love Blade II even more, it had a nice Euro-horror aesthetic and GDT monster effects and some good fights courtesy of Ward and Yen. And Ron Pearlman was a fun villain. Blade: Trinity was admittedly pretty bad.

Except that Spider-Man getting fast tracked out of development hell was a result of X-men's success.

Long rumored, director Bryan Singer has now confirmed that the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past will mix cast members from his X-Men and X2 with those from Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class. Taking to Twitter, Singer reports that Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are set to reprise their roles as Magneto and Professor X with Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy returning to play younger versions of the same characters.
Singer goes on say that Nicolas Hoult will be back as Beast and Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique. His original tweets read as follows:
I'd like to officially welcome back James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, & Nicholas Hoult to #XMEN for #DaysOfFuturePast
— Bryan Singer (@BryanSinger) November 27, 2012
Thrilled to announce @ianmckellen118 & @sirpatstew are joining the cast of #XMEN #DaysOfFuturePast #magneto #professorX More to come...
— Bryan Singer (@BryanSinger) November 27, 2012
Scheduled for release on July 18, 2014, X-Men: Days of Future Past boasts a script by Simon Kinberg and is said to be inspired Chris Claremont and John Byrne's comic book storyline that ran in Uncanny X-Men #141 and 142 back in 1981. "Days of Future Past" introduced the idea of an alternate future for Marvel's mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.
Although not yet officially listed, Singer's "more to come" is likely to also include Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. In addition to playing a key role in the comic book version of the story, Wolverine has appeared in every live-action X-Men film to date and will star in his second solo adventure with July 26th's The Wolverine.

I hope they're not mere cameos and get to interact with their younger counterparts.

Awesome news. With this and Jean Grey making a cameo in The Wolverine, I wonder if they are going to use time travel to erase everyone getting killed in X3, to set up proper sequels.

I'm wondering where this is going to go in the timeline, with Professor X being dead at the end of X3 (forget brain dead guy)
Unless they retcon it, which everybody will be fine with.

I'm fine with a retcon. Young Magneto and Prof X can see the path they are going down, especially when it comes to how they deal with Jean, and adjust accordingly.
