Animated and straight to Netflix is the only way I see this getting made.

I liked both Hellboy movies. I'd watch a third.

Still sounds like a pipe dream, but I'd certainly pre-order a ticket in a heartbeat.

At least he came out and said it rather than stringing people along. Seems kind of strange that he's saying all parties confirmed it won't happen though. I would think Pearlman would be willing to play the character again.

They should do some sort of Hellboy animated series.

The Hellboy films are a great example of a film spending so much time to get the aesthetics, design work, art, prosthetics, etc. perfect that they forget to tell a great story in the process.

Well, they did do two animated films already. I really enjoyed all four films so far.

Not quite. He spoke with all parties involved, which means it's Perlman, Mignola, and Universal. Universal is the $$$ and said no.

That's what I took away from it.

But there's other ways of getting financing... so maybe Mignola was 'meh'.
