I'm out of the loop. How does Google Image Search work?

Re: Guess That Movie By Screenshot (7 Plus Seven)

^^Thanks for the explanation. I was just figuring it out myself. Another way is the take the url and plug it into the GIS engine.

Well, that pretty much ruins this game.

I don't appreciate the implication that I cheated.

Re: Guess That Movie By Screenshot (7 Plus Seven)

I never implied you cheated, but anyone can cheat with assistance from this image search tool.

Anyone have suggestions on how to circumvent this problem or should we just bring the game to a close?

You did nothing wrong except expose a method for cheating, one of which I was unaware. I don't think you insinuated William Fuld had cheated either.
Posting actual screen caps will probably work okay (don't several folks do that?)
I don't know what you mean by "actual screen caps". My shot was an actual screen cap in the sense that I fast-forwarded through the movie and took about fifty shots, this being one of them. I actually used this shot because I found it less representative of the film, and less memorable, than many of the others I had captured.

Re: Guess That Movie By Screenshot (7 Plus Seven)

Ah, I though you might have posted an already web-present pic. A way to minimize the problem would be to search for your own pic before you post it. Hard to say, though, how hard it will be to find somewhat relevant screen caps in the movie that aren't already captured somewhere on the internet. I'm actually surprised yours came up (that's why I thought it was an already present on the web one).

Re: Guess That Movie By Screenshot (7 Plus Seven)

I see what you mean. In the past, some players have used pics from the web, but I never have. You're right, one could do a pre-search for one's selected shot before posting, but I think that might make the game prohibitively tedious for some who might otherwise participate. We're already having enough trouble keeping the game alive as it is.

I stepped away from the computer for a few hours and missed this latest turn of events.

Hopefully we can keep this thread alive.

If you make your own screenshots, it shouldn't be a problem.

Re: Guess That Movie By Screenshot (7 Plus Seven)

Just to clear things up, The Cow posted about GIS before I could answer how I knew that shot. It's been a long day and I took it the wrong way. Sorry, The Cow (and Norm de Plume).
