Determined to make her own path in life, Princess Merida defies a custom that brings chaos to her kingdom. Granted one wish, Merida must rely on her bravery and her archery skills to undo a beastly curse.
Brave is notable for being the first Pixar film to feature a female protagonist, as well as being the studio’s first movie to be co-directed by a woman (Brenda Chapman).

I didn't really like the trailer; feels like it doesn't really give much incite into what the movie is about, and the accents just make me think of How To Train Your Dragon Not really a fan of the human design either, although the animation and some of the settings are absolutely beautiful.

So, as I understand it this film had a female director and Witherspoon attached, and the director was fired and Reese took off? It's not first time that's happened. Ratatouille had an ugly pre-production process and it's one of my favs.

The slapsticky elements are a bit eye-rolling and I'm not sold on the character designs, but Cars 2 notwithstanding I still believe in Pixar.

The whole look and feel made me think of How to Train Your Dragon, but since that's probably in my top 3 animated movies and one of my favorite movies, overall, in recent memory, that's fine by me.

I'm not sold either. I want to like it, but it's not grabbing me. And it's not the disappointment with Cars 2 either, my 4 yo was getting a haircut yesterday and Toy Story 3 was playing on the TV and I still got all lumpy feeling in my throat just watching a little bit of it, so I know somewhere in Pixar is something great.

...although the cast should speak with Norsk accents to complement How to Train Your Dragon.

This does look pretty good. Will definitely see this in theaters even if its the 2nd run movie theaters .
Really like that they have Kelly Macdonald doing the voice as well . Cars II was one of the worst movies I saw last year so hopefully this makes up for it.

I don't know about this. It seems like they are playing up being a warrior perhaps to increase military recruiting. Veiled military industrial complex propoganda.

I've never been into Pixar films, but I know most blindly buy into anything they sell (not exactly a jab at their fans), but this looks like every other run-of-the-mill princess films. Am I missing something here? The trailers hardly look intriguing to me.

If you're not into Pixar films, there's not much to say to sway you. Once I start watching the movie, the story and characters just pull me in. 99% of the time, they nail it. While I like the trailers as a source for what their movies are about, it's not the way to get into their movies. Their movies have a heart at the core and I really enjoy that in animation.
