Jesus Christ, I was married in 2012?
Anyway, moving on....
The Dolby Vision 3D presentation is worth the price of admission. Sadly, it happens to be one of the few films that I've seen at a Dolby Cinema that really takes advantage of what Dolby Vision and Atmos has to offer. In addition, it is by far the brightest and most colorful 3D presentation I've seen either in theaters or in a home setting. I was a bit bummed that the film wasn't presented in open-matte such as the IMAX 3D or the 3D Blu-ray release, but the 3D is still phenomenal in its original aspect ratio.
This is, by far, the absolute best this film has ever looked and sounded.

I went to the 12:00 show today.
That sound was amazing. First time at the AMC Dolbyvision. Are all the seats equipped with sub woofers? My seat was shaking. Well worth the $15

Unfortunately, AMC has an exclusive deal with Dolby in the fact that they are the only chain in the U.S. to have the Dolby Cinema branding. With that being said, there are a few theaters in the U.S. that are Dolby Vision and Atmos capable, but they cannot advertise that they’re a Dolby Cinema. The El Capitan in Los Angeles and the JBX auditorium in the Palms here in Vegas are two examples (but they don’t have subs in every seat).

re: TITANIC in 3D (Cameron) - re-release
Just came back from the show. Man it sounded AMAZING. I love Dolby Theater. Saw Valarian and Atomic Blonde there. It hurt to spend real live money on a movie ticket (especially one that I own like four times over between DVDs and Blu Rays). Still it was a very cool presentation.
The movie still holds up. I only wish that Billy Zane's character wasn't such a mustache twirling villain. There had to be a way to write him with a little back-story or touch of humanity-- after all it really was hard and humiliating for him to lose his fiancé. They didn't have to make him THAT evil and irredeemable.
BTW : Corrected aspect ratio : Full frontal nudity.

at AMC Tyson's upgraded 3D Dolby Cinema screen the image was stellar, the sound not so much .... so glad the seats didn't shake (I hate that feature) however when the ship cracks and crashes it's end into the ocean the whole auditorium shook to tremendous effect,

EXCLUSIVE: To celebrate the 25th anniversary of James Cameron’s Titanic, the multiple Oscar winner and box office phenomenon has been set for a fresh theatrical release just in time for Valentine’s Day next year. A remastered version will be available in cinemas in 3D 4K HDR and high-frame rate, with Disney releasing internationally beginning February 10, 2023, Deadline has confirmed. Paramount has domestic rights and is expected to also set its date in the coming days.

This comes back in theaters newly remastered in 4K 3D
I own the BD, but honestly I haven't watched this in at least 20 years. I might consider seeing this new remaster. I saw this once in theaters back in 1997 when I was a Senior in college and maybe twice on home video.

That poster looks weirdly photoshopped. I'll probably go check it out this time as I missed it last time the 3d version was in theaters. Plus the sinking will be great to see on the big screen again.

Re: TITANIC in 3D (Cameron) - re-release
Surprisingly, this movie really benefits from the 3D conversion. I saw it a few years ago in the theater when it was re-released in 3D and recently watched the 3D blu-ray at home.
The 3D really does make the scale that much grander. The scene where Rose is about to jump off the stern of the ship, the height of the ship and the distance down to the water is really apparent in the 3D version. Same with the long corridor shots and the sweeping overhead shots of the ship. They all look so much larger on 3D.
My son is a big fan of the movie. He wasn’t born yet when the movie was re-released a few years ago so if he wants to see it in the theater I may take him. Otherwise I’ll probably skip this re-re-release.
I would definitely recommend it though for anyone who hasn’t seen the 3D version yet. It’s really quite impressive.

edit -- hmm...I guess it's supposed to be the more complete image (not obscured by the ship) from the original posters

Pre-sale tickets are now up.
I think I'll probably check out this new remaster. Not a big 3D fan, but it might be cool to see this in that format.
