The animated film was great
I've enjoyed all the movies, although Chronicles definitely had some issues. Looking forward to another one.

Re: New Riddick movie in the works
I'm going against the grain here to say that, while I liked Pitch Black (even if parts of it feel dated now), I really enjoyed Chronicles. I liked the massive universe Twohy was trying to build, the epic scale to all of it. But I'm ok with a sequel not trying to bite so much off. I'll see this.

This is how I felt, although I did like Chronicles. The first movie is obviously superior, so I welcome a return.

New Riddick Artwork and R Rating Confirmed

I hear you...
While I was working on character, the Director and his team of artists have been creating the world and style of this picture. We all know how much I enjoy concept art and storyboards, haha, I am like a kid in a candy shop.
Seeing the early stage of CGI is always fascinating to me, it is a element that usually comes together long after the filming process, so you look forward to seeing it fully realized.
First stop for the Riddick production is Canada, which is where we shot a large part of Chronicles...
P.s. I am grateful to have Universal in such support of this complex character's journey... not many studios would back an "R" rating. Very cool.

Re: New Riddick movie in the works
Didn't know Universal was involved, thought Vin had to go to another studio.
They will have a sexy female merc. Whew, I was worried this wouldn't have a hottie.
I was also interested in the story where Riddick goes to the underverse to get that hottie Kyra back. Too bad. So far, this sounds like Predator / PB with a bit of Chronicles. I'll keep following the news on this. Can't believe it's been over seven years since Chronicles.

Riddick, the third film in David Twohy's series about the titular anti-hero, is moving fast through pre-production. An R rating has been secured. Vin Diesel is coming back. Casting is underway and good times will be had by all.
Diesel has been keeping his fanbase in the loop about the film and he shared some new artwork which reveals on of the Necro-armo designs for Riddick
Diesel writes: "One of many Necro-armor designs... Haha, I had to share. It takes hundreds of artists to make a movie... I am excited about the work Our "Riddick" crew of artists, are doing right now in Canada. Their contributions is what will make this film. P.s. Riddick starts principal photography in weeks... much to do, much to do... especially since it's "R"... GRRR..."
You can view the artwork below the synopsis:
Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick (Diesel) fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction.

Meh, looks like they're going more in the direction of Chronicles. I like Sci-Fi as much as the next guy but that whole universe was corny.

So much for having a hottie in this. Ah, well, I suppose she will be fine.

Judi Dench: Drink before watching Riddick
added: 23 Dec 2011
(Cover) - EN Movies - Dame Judi Dench advisers viewers to “have a few drinks” before they watch her past movie The Chronicles of Riddick.
The actress played Aereon in the sci-fi-action-thriller alongside Vin Diesel, Thandie Newton and Karl Urban.
Judi admitted that she hasn’t actually seen it, but she is sure it isn’t her best work.
“It was very good fun, but I’ve never seen it,” she told British magazine Total Film. “Drop me a line if you see it. You might have a huge laugh, but I’d have a few drinks beforehand!”
When asked why she accepted the role she confessed it was all down to the charm of her co-star, Vin.
The Fast & Furious star was eager to get Judi involved with the movie.
“Why did I say yes? Well, Vin Diesel came to see me in a play, Breath of Life,” the actress explained. “He brought some flowers that were as long as a wardrobe. How could I say no?”

Re: New Riddick movie in the works
has she had some plastic surgery
she looks odd compared to what I remember from BSG, or even her recurring minor role on CSI
