I think it looks funny. It also sports a bizarre team of screenwriters that includes Russell Gewirtz (Inside Man), Ted Griffin (Ocean's Eleven, Matchstick Men), Rawson Marshall Thurber (Dodgeball)...and Noah Baumbach.

A team of screenwriters? That's usually not a very good sign. Brett Ratner is the director, and there's not enough screenwriters to save this film from him.

Between multiple screenwriters, Brett Ratner, and Eddie Murphy this is like the perfect storm for a complete box office bomb.

Re: Tower Heist (2011) -Brett Ratner, Eddie Murphy, Ben Stiller

I wonder if the screenwriter issue is because the original concept was to be the "black" Oceans 11. Somehow along the way the film changed to what it is now, obviously being more influenced by the current economic situation and inspired by people like Bernie Madoff. Maybe one of those guys wrote the original screenplay, then one rewrote it to fit a more diverse cast, then one added in the new storyline then one... ah fuck it. It actually looks funny. I heard this movie was probably going to be rated R, hopefully we will get a few classic Eddie Murphy moments.

I hate Brett Ratner. I have never seen a director who has accomplished so little, yet think so highly of himself.

This looks like 80's Eddie Murphy, where he is actually having fun.

Wy did they change the name from Trump Heist to Tower Heist? I'll stream it on netflix but this won't get me out to the theater.

I'm just happy to see Eddie Murphy in something that is not a kiddie film. But it'll be a rental on a night when there is literally nothing else to watch, at best. Now that maybe he's getting his groove back, let's get going on 'Cop IV.

I think it looks pretty funny. Great cast. The trailer was almost 3/4 over before I even realized Matthew Broderick was in this.

Saw the trailer last week and thought it looked like fun but Eddie Murphy has been disappointing as of late so I think I'll wait for some reviews before I make a decision.

I had the same exact thought! Proves - I hope - that he can be funny without having to rely on cursing and sexual profanity. I feel like he's been gone from this type of character for too long while he was off making all those Disney films.

I thought "The Family Guy" directed by Rattner was more than decent. I'll most likely pick it up on DVD.

Ha, I didn't understand that either. If 80's Eddie was anything, he was profane and cursed a lot.

Re: Tower Heist (2011) -Brett Ratner, Eddie Murphy, Ben Stiller

I never had a problem with Brett Ratner as a Director. His movies are usually decent and they usually look good. He may come across as an jerk, but I've enjoyed some of his movies.

I loved The Family Man. and Red Dragon, After the Sunset, Rush Hour 1+2 were good. X-men Last stand was decent.

I think this movie looks good. Like others have said it looks like Eddie Murphy is having fun here.
