Ruben Fleischer has produced a total of 10-15 minutes of film that I have enjoyed. All of which was acted by Bill Murray in Zombieland, of which I give almost all credit to Bill Murray for being as funny as..well.. Bill Murray. The man who could make the phone book funny.

I mean, how could you take a movie like this as anything but a comedy when you get to resolving everything with a fist fight after a gun fight.

I mean, it was just full on retard.

Spoiler:
And on top of that, the final showdown is a cop easily beating a former pro boxer in a fist fight. The ending was ridiculously stupid.

Enjoyed it for what it was, Sean Penn had me feeling like I was watching Dick Tracy - and the film had a little bit of that vibe to it. all Caper like. What hijinks will the guys get up to next.

I would say it would be a decent rental, not at all necessary to see it in the theater.

6/10 on the scale.

Watched this today. I agree with the sentiments that it was very cartoony, in a 'hijinks' fashion, with no real stakes until the last twenty minutes. The story also felt like it moved too quickly. Way too quickly. Like it was meant to be a 3 1/2 hour movie and was cut to an hour and 45.

I did like a lot of single scenes, I just didn't like the movie as a whole. For example,
Spoiler:
the car chase scene was great, as was the double tommy gun in Chinatown. I also liked the last scene, as dumb as it was when it devolved into a spectacle boxing match on the lawn.

Overall, I'd say 7/10.
