I agree with the previous statement that Bay should stay away from humor as it's always a huge misfire for me. In the last film we had Mudflap and Skids and thankfully they're gone for this film, but the jokes have transitioned to those two little Italian mafioso robots. Every time they spoke I cringed.

Re: Transformers: Dark of the Moon (Bay, 2011) — The Reviews Thread
Spoiler:
Personally I thought the movie was really good. I think it was right around the same level as the first one for me. I have learned long ago that with this kind of movie you have to leave expectations aside and just try to enjoy it. As such I haven't been disappointed by any of the 3 films. This one has some great moments and a decent story line. Shia gets a tad annoying during his "job hunt" but in the end I think that cast did well overall.
I saw it in 3D and I didn't think it added anything worthwhile to the enjoyment of the film. I plan on seeing it again in 2D.
Finally, there was a song by U2 listed in the credits (I can't find any reference to the soundtrack on IMDB) which prompted me to start a search. As an avid U2 fan I always want to hear their latest/greatest. Apparently it is called North Star, and they have played it a couple times on the European leg of their tour. It is said that it will be on their next album which should be out sometime in 2012. It's a pity that it is NOT on the soundtrack album for the movie.

Bay seems to have a digit fetish.

Someone liked the scene where Shia freaked out trying to get into the nest? Jesus Christ, I was hoping they'd shoot him. He's just screaming incoherently for no reason, and then he's a dick to everyone, including Bumblebee!

Being that this the reviews thread, here's my favorite review I've read so far.
And here's my favorite line from it:

Transformers: Dark of the Moon (hereafter Transformers: Asshole) is a new low watermark for Bay

She may be a successful model (or not--I'd never heard of her before she was cast in this), but she's not movie star-attractive in any way. Megan Fox was movie star-gorgeous.

That's fine, and I probably agree, but my point is that she's not ugly, and the people who say so are being contrarians for the sake of it - most likely as a nervous, involuntary reaction rather than some some sort of though-out logic. But that's the internet for you. You say something is awesome, and instead of coming back with "it's not awesome", I have to distance myself so far from you that my response has to be a hyperbolic "it's the worst thing since Vampire Hitler!!!"

Or maybe, just maybe, some of us genuinely think she's the kind of puffed-up, corporate created model that is practically genetically engineered to conform to some generic standards of hotness and that the end result is something that is in fact not attractive at all, and may even be repulsive.

That dude's teeth look exactly like Will Ferrell's.
I don't think she's ugly per se but I don't find her at all attractive.

Also theres one comical shot of her towards the end. Its in slow motion, all kinds of shit blowing up around her, and yet she has this stone "uh what am i reacting to" kind of look. Almost as if it was green screen and Bay told her to react.
For all the stupid shit in the first act of the movie (the whole open pre credit sequence, the asian dude and the "gay humor", everyone fawning over the new chick the parents), it managed to be enjoyable once we got what we paid for. Also i got a kick out of the

This is the most unchaotic Bay movie ever made. Shots lasts longer and the action makes sense. I thought it was good. I thought that Shia being a complete asshole throughout the movie was unnecessary. But I did like how dark the third act got.
Overall, 3 out of 4 stars.
