Re: The Big Lebowski and ... "The Dude Abides", what does it mean?
Do you guys always have this much fun over here in the Movie Talk forum? This is like the most fun i've had here at dvdtalk.com in like a decade. :p:D
Hey Coen brothers, how about a Big Lebowski 2!?!! Its pretty obvious that The B.L. is not only one of my favorite comedies of all time but one of many, many people's favorites. Its #27 here, but it should be in the top ten. I think its is in my top 5 or so, great comedies like this one are pretty darn far and few between.:thmbsdwn: |
Re: The Big Lebowski and ... "The Dude Abides", what does it mean?
I would love another film, the characters are so rich that another film would definitely work. But for now, Burn After Reading suffices as my alternate universe Lebowski.

....I'm one and done. I love Walter and The Dude..but...when Donny was out...the story had to end. And it did.

Spoiler:
That is hysterical...I've never seen an edited version of Lebowski before, but that is great...how random. |

This was a pretty fun thread, I'm sure it annoyed some, but they don't really get it and it's still fun to post about stuff but...ah, lost my train of thought here.

Times like these call for a Big Lebowski.

I am fixing to watch the Coen's True Grit. It was a blind buy. John Wayne's True Grit is my favorite John Wayne movie by a good margin. I am not expecting it to trump it but I am expecting to be entertained a good bit. I am looking forward to it. :)

Wouldn't hold out much hope for the tape deck, though.

I think it's a much better film. And personally more enjoyable to me. I like Wayne's version..but...it's got some bad acting in there that really ruins it for me when those 2 actors start...acting for the most.

Re: The Big Lebowski and ... "The Dude Abides", what does it mean?
The actress playing Mattie Ross and the "actor" playing LaBeof. Wayne did fine...it just..was Wayne...w/ some variation. I don't think the actiog from him was award worthy..but he did fine. And he also got his lifetime achievement award aka his Best Actor award. I love Wayne but it wasn't award worthy in comparison to the other actors nominated that year.
