In 1986, classic comedy western ¡Three Amigos! was released, starring three living legends, Chevy Chase, Steve Martin and Martin Short and directed by none other than John Landis.
One month ago, 25 years later, all four of them came together for a very special Empire reunion in Los Angeles, putting their sombreros back on once more and doing their level best to reenact that salute.
In this month's magazine – out now, by the way – we've got eight pages celebrating the event, including an extensive and hilarious interview with all four, alongside stunning photographs of the gang mucking about.

Those new pictures of them are pretty cool. I have this issue and cannot wait to read the article.
They even have a guide on the little dance.

Not a huge fan, but got to assume that the misuse of the word 'plethora' is some reference to the movie.

Chevy Chase is a dick. One of the quintessential examples of a self important lightweight who lets fame go to their head. Hence so many enjoyed him failing so badly at his talk show attempt.
Anyway, to summarize, he felt Sam Kinison was too funny, and was upstaging him, so he threw a hissy fit and had all the scenes removed from the film or he would walk.

wow...what a dick. I've never been a fan of Chase in movies, in fact I hate them all except for 3 amigos. I'm not even a big fan of him in Community...he's just mediocre.

Chevy Chase is known to be a huge, huge asshole. But he can also be very funny from time to time. Not as much as Steve Martin, but more than Martin Short.
P.S. I love this movie.

Wow. I didn't know Chase had Kinison cut from the movie. What character was he?

This thread reminds me that I have never seen Three Amigos for some reason. I will soon rectify that.

The Three Amigos is a favorite of mine. I wish this reunion article came with a Blu-ray announcement though, as some of you have already indicated.

BD would be nice. One of my favorite comedies as well. Right behind Spies Like Us.
Love the photos above, however the video is pretty pointless, especially with the :20 second add preceding a :30 second clip.

Chevy Chase may be a dick, but he has been in a ton of classic comedies.
Plus I think taking a role in an ensemble TV show is possibly a sign that he has finally gotten over himself, and in my opinion he's a big part of why Community is so funny.

^ He's kidding, of course. Here's the scoop from Kinison's brother, Bill:
http://www.bullz-eye.com/entertainme...ll_kinison.htm
BE: I know his scenes were deleted, but I read that Sam originally had some scenes in “Three Amigos”.
BK: Yeah, we shot it in Arizona, and he had actually had several scenes. He played a mountain man that just wouldn’t die. They shoot him and he wouldn’t die; they stab him and he won’t die; they drown him in a river, from which Sam caught pneumonia, and he won’t die. But Chevy Chase, after seeing the dailies and everything, said he wouldn’t finish the movie if Lorne Michaels left Sam in, because he felt like Sam stole the movie. So they still had to pay Sam but he was never in any scenes that was released. I told Lorne, “What, Chevy Chase runs your business now and everything?” And he goes, “Bill, we’re into this movie. What am I going to do?” But, yeah, I guess no one will ever see that footage, but it was hilarious at the time.
