If you have plans to see the film like I do, don't watch that trailer.
I stopped watching early on as it's obviously one of those 'let's just spoil the whole damned film' trailers.

Just saw this tonight. Theater was 75% full. I was laughing through the whole thing. Maybe it's just my style of comedy, or maybe I relate to it on some level, but I thought it was the funniest film I've seen in a while. Some of Steve Coogan's expressions in the background were just priceless.
Had to suffer through a few lame trailers. Adam Sandler twin movie and some silly movie about gen Y whiners separated with one being in the US and one in the UK. ugh . . .

Rudd has grown on me over the last few years, as long as he doesn't start with the adlibbing like with the other Apatow fucksticks.
The movie looks like good fun, the saintly naive soul brightening the lives of the cynical people around him. I'll probably wait to see it on Netflix.

Haven't seen this yet but I'm looking forward to it. Basically anything with Rudd means I'm there. He's one of my favorite comedy actors right now.

I've returned after watching the film. It was very laugh out loud funny. I've seen most of Paul Rudd's movies and this was probably his best. I wasn't expecting this to be as cute and funny as it was. The trailer doesn't do it justice. His character's sisters are all enjoyable to watch too. Rated R for foul language and more male nudity than women.

Re: Our Idiot Brother...Paul Rudd
Paul Rudd plays the idiot brother Ned with 3 sisters (played by Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel, and Emily Mortimer) who all have their own issues to deal with, and a mother, but Paul goes to jail after selling pot to a uniformed policeman in broad daylight, and when he gets out, things have changed for his living situation, and he has to rely on his family to get him through the tough times.
Even though the plot points rely on Ned's cluelessness and naive outlook on life to mine its humor, and play the game of telephone to cause confusion to sustain the plotlines. Even with their issues, the sisters are still sympathetic enough characters.
I give it 2.75 stars, or a grade of B-.

The movie was okay, but most of the jokes fell flat. I appreciated the very brief Dune shout out (
Adam Scott), and the scenes with the ex-girlfriend and that other guy were funny.
I didn't find the sisters funny at all, and I love all three actresses.

I saw it last night and really enjoyed it. The movie had some heart to it which I liked as well as being very funny. Ned obviously isn't the brightest guy but has his thoughts in the right place. I also really enjoyed the scenes with his ex-girlfriend and her new guy Billy. Also the sisters were all great to watch as well and I enjoy all the actresses (especially Zooey).

Caught a matinee today. The wife and I enjoyed it. Not hilarious, but it did have its share of laughs. Getting Elizabeth Banks, Rashida Jones and Zooey Deschanel on the big screen was a plus.

saw this over the weekend and wasn't too impressed. basic middle of the road dramedy. great cast all around and good music choices - just didn't really do it for me. didn't hate it but i doubt i'll need to see it ever again. bonus points for having rashida and zooey kiss mutiple times though.

This is one of those nice little indie comedies ($5m budget) with a phenomenal cast.
It wasn't hilarious but it was a very enjoyable movie.
, a few extra points for having Katie Aselton show up for a minute, love her on The League.

I enjoyed it. It didn't really stand out from other films of the type, but the cast was great and there were quite a few minutes that I laughed out loud. So on a Patman scale I'd give it, prolly a C.

A nice, heart-warming film....nothing more, nothing less. Glad I saw it, had a few laughs, but I can't see myself owning this one day.
