Re: 30 MINUTES OR LESS (2011) (dir. Fleischer) (Eisenberg, McBride, Ansari)

42% on RottenTomatoes (55 reviews)

Consensus:
"It's sporadically funny and it benefits from a talented cast, but 30 Minutes or Less suffers from a disjointed narrative, and too often mistakes crude gags for true lowbrow humor."

Roger Ebert: "Moral of the story: If you occupy the demographic that this film is aimed at, Hollywood doesn't have a very high opinion of you." Ouch

Best part of the movie is Bianca Kajlich's tits. And they are very great.
The rest is meh.

My wife thinks that the existence of this movie is "sick" and she'd "rather watch Zookeeper."

I thought it looked pretty good but the whole "comedy about a guy that got his head blown off" thing has made me feel a little sour about it.

considering the true story behind that collar bomb, i'm kind of sad they aren't going a more literal route with it. That story is ripe for full blown parody.

I enjoyed it. I didn't laugh much for the first 30 minutes, but pretty much laughed the rest of the way. The car chase was great (ok, it was mostly the Beverly Hills Cop music..haha) and seeing that chick from Greek brought back great memories of that show.

This and The Change Up bombing at the box office doesn't bode well for R rated comedies not The Hangover related.

I thought Bridesmaids was PG-13 for some reason. I can't remember anything too bad about it with the exception of Annie saying **** once.

Re: 30 MINUTES OR LESS (2011) (dir. Fleischer) (Eisenberg, McBride, Ansari)

Not quite a fully fleshed out movie script, though they spent about 20 minutes trying to set up the premise and the characters' somewhat flat motivations, but the film does pick up some momentum and builds to a decent conclusion. Structure-wise, it feels like it's missing a middle act, so at best, I'd recommend it as a matinee or later as a rental.

I give it 2.5 stars, or a grade of C+.

I absolutely loved it. It's the most I've laughed in theaters in a very long time.

Props to a working TV actress for busting out the boobies, was not expecting them (or just creative cutting/editing of a boob double, but that was not the case).

Yeah that was a nice surprise.

By the way, there is an after the credits scene.

Spoiler:
It's a commercial for Major Tan.

And the fact that the beginning of the movie has Kristin Wiig getting banged hard by Jon Hamm.

Saw 30 this weekend. My biggest regret, next to trying out some thai that didn't go over well. Glad this one will more than likely tank.

Don't think you saw Wiig's boobies, even if you think you did.
