Your favorite Charles Grodin movie?

I was watching "Clifford" the other night and thought Charles Grodin was great in it. "Midnight Run" is another favorite Grodin performance of mine.

I checked IMDB and noticed he's only made one film in the last 16 years. What's up with that? He should be in more movies.

What movie has your favorite Charles Grodin performance?

No poll?

Midnight Run by a country mile, with Real Life in second place.

I know it's awful but Clifford has some great moments in between the awfulness, specifically the diner party. The way Grodin goes nuts at the end, perfect.

I voted "other" since when I think of Grodin, the first film that comes to mind is The Incredible Shrinking Woman, even though I haven't seen that one since I was a kid.

Even though it's a small supporting role, the best movie on that list is Rosemary's Baby and he's perfect in it.

So that gets my vote.

Re: Your favorite Charles Grodin movie?

I picked Seems Like Old Times since it had a better impression on me than Beethoven when I was a child. The way he handles himself in that movie makes it note-perfect in terms of his performance. Both of those movies still hold up splendidly, but Seems Like Old Times is a lot funnier and his reactions to everything in the film are uproarious.

He was best in Midnight Run.

I really enjoyed Seems Like Old Times and The Great Muppet Caper as a kid, but I wonder how they've held up. He was also pretty funny in Dave.

Guilty pleasure: King Kong

Love him in Midnight Run, Real Life, Seems Like Old Times, & The Lonely Guy. Saw The Heartbreak Kid a couple weeks ago for the first time. Strange but fascinating movie, and he plays against type. Probably his best "acting" role, though I like the others I listed more.

C'mon! How is King Kong '76 not on the list? That's my pick.

even though MR gets the nod, i really liked Taking Care of Business and surprised it didn't make the poll.
