He'll be Back! Arnold Schwarzenegger to return to acting.

From TVGuide.com

He said he'll be back.

Arnold Schwarzenegger tweeted Friday that he is ready to start considering film roles again.

"Exciting news. My friends at CAA [Creative Artists Agency] have been asking me for 7 years when they can take offers seriously," the former governor of California tweeted. "Gave them the green light today."

Prior to winning the governorship in 2003, Schwarzenegger was best known for his roles in the Terminator franchise, True Lies, Kindergarten Cop and Twins. During his seven years in office, he made cameos in 2004's Around the World in 80 Days and last year's The Expendables.

Are you excited about Schwarzenegger's return to film?

I wonder if Stallone has written a script for Expendables 2 yet? Maybe Arnold can be added in the mix?

I think pretty much everyone has given up on seeing a True Lies sequel. Once Cameron is free from Avatar in 2015, it will have been 21 years since True Lies. Arnold will be almost 70 by then.

I loved Arnie back in the day... but hell, he looked like a shadow of his former self in his brief cameo in The Expendables. Maybe he needs to work into shape or something. And unless he's going to give me an 80's type action revival like Stallone is, I'll pass. I don't care to see him in Kindergarten Cop 2 or some stupid comedy with Devito.

Arnold is out of shape, but if anyone can get his ass back in shape, it's him. I'm sure if the Oak decides to make something that requires him to look ripped, he'll do it. But I think he's done making the moves we associate him with.

What a coincidence since I just saw Terminator 2 today. He kicked ass back in the day - hope he can again...

I recall seeing news recently that he was actively circling a couple different potential projects (forgot what they were).

I believe one was a theatrical adaptation of King Lear, and the other an unidentified project with David Lynch.

Dunno if he's actually finished it or whatever. BUT he does have a story for it...and he was pretty gung ho on putting more Willis and Arnold.

Please oh fucking please get Arnold to pump up again, Sly. Make him a badass again..the last good Arnold movie was True Lies. You've no idea how badly I want a sequel to my childhood dream movie that was made into a reality via the badassness of you, Stallone.

And I see no problem seeing him caught as an aging spy and having to be rescued by his daughter Eliza Dushku.

I want to see him in a Predator movie. Then a Running Man 2 sequel.

I'd love to see a True Lies 2 but I don't see it happening. I talked to Tom Arnold some 9 years ago and he said there was a script but they were all just waiting for Cameron.

I don't know what I'd like to see Arnold do. Maybe I've seen him too many times these past few years as the Govenator.

If it's really waiting on Cameron that yea it will probably never happen.

I've always liked Arnold's less popular roles like Twins and Last Action Hero. Don't really want to see him go back to the Terminator thing. Expendables 2 is probably a given though.

How about a Demolition Man 2: The Three Seashells with just Stallone v.s. Arnold?

The correct answer is Commando 2. The world needs John Matrix now more than ever. Rae Dawn Chong and Alyssa Milano are ready to go!

How could there have been a script? Cameron is the writer of True Lies. If Tom Arnold really thought James Cameron would come in as a director-for-hire on a script he didn't write, then he doesn't know James Cameron.

I really wish Avatar was just a one-off and Cameron would do another True Lies or something with Schwarzenegger. That would have been a cool franchise. However, I sadly feel that Cameron has turned into George Lucas with this Avatar thing and ain't coming back. Nothing but kid-friendly, toyriffic, CGI craptaculars from now on from the guy who created the Terminator.

Cameron wrote the script, they were just waiting on him to be available to direct, he was finishing up a different project.

Then 9/11 happened and Cameron said that after that he thought people would not watch a movie that took terrorism lightly and pulled the plug.

At least that is according to a couple of articles I read on it over the last decade.

Ah. That makes what Cameron's been doing with himself for the last decade even sadder.

Definitely. It would probably be pretty easy to come up with something that would play off his obvious decline in his physical self.

I'd actually like to see him do something dark along the lines of The Wrestler. Although, it could be really bad if he doesn't have the acting chops to pull it off.

Last week we learned that Arnold Schwarzenegger would parlay his "Governator" nickname/mythos into a franchise via a Stan Lee-shepherded comic book and an animated TV series (details HERE).

Schwarzenegger has now revealed that plans to exploit said character don't stop at comics and cartoons - looks like we'll be getting a movie as well.

“First will come (The Governator) comic books, then a (cartoon) TV series and after that we will develop the games and then a movie,” Schwarzenegger told a packed room of international journalists at global TV market MipTV in Cannes. “Maybe then we'll be back in Cannes for that.”'

Re: He'll be Back! Arnold Schwarzenegger to return to acting.

No offense to Arnold, but he wouldn't even be remotely believable in any of the roles he used to play, except for the few comedies here and there. He doesn't have any range to be able to do serious roles.

I'm just not sure what he could do. Please, no more heavy action films. You're 64 years old.
