I really wish Avatar was just a one-off and Cameron would do another True Lies or something with Schwarzenegger. That would have been a cool franchise. However, I sadly feel that Cameron has turned into George Lucas with this Avatar thing and ain't coming back. Nothing but kid-friendly, toyriffic, CGI craptaculars from now on from the guy who created the Terminator.

Then 9/11 happened and Cameron said that after that he thought people would not watch a movie that took terrorism lightly and pulled the plug.
At least that is according to a couple of articles I read on it over the last decade.

Cameron wrote the script, they were just waiting on him to be available to direct, he was finishing up a different project.

I'd actually like to see him do something dark along the lines of The Wrestler. Although, it could be really bad if he doesn't have the acting chops to pull it off.

Last week we learned that Arnold Schwarzenegger would parlay his "Governator" nickname/mythos into a franchise via a Stan Lee-shepherded comic book and an animated TV series (details HERE).
Schwarzenegger has now revealed that plans to exploit said character don't stop at comics and cartoons - looks like we'll be getting a movie as well.
“First will come (The Governator) comic books, then a (cartoon) TV series and after that we will develop the games and then a movie,” Schwarzenegger told a packed room of international journalists at global TV market MipTV in Cannes. “Maybe then we'll be back in Cannes for that.”'

No offense to Arnold, but he wouldn't even be remotely believable in any of the roles he used to play, except for the few comedies here and there. He doesn't have any range to be able to do serious roles.
I'm just not sure what he could do. Please, no more heavy action films. You're 64 years old.

All Tarantino would need to do is give Arnold a long hair wig (that would make him appear a better actor by at least 25%. Take Jean Claude Van Dame in Cyborg for instance. He was a much better actor when he had long hair in the flashback scenes), have his character have mild brain damage (former boxer or maybe he got in an accident and hit his head. it would explain why he says AAIIYYEEEAAHHH AAIIIYYEEAah and not much else), and a very original and dramatic story where Arnold says only a few lines. Arnold is very photogenic and has great screen presence. The only time he gets mistaken for a bad actor is when he opens his mouth. With the right story and scenes Tarantino could get him an oscar without saying much like that girl in the movie 'Piano'. Let's do this!!

For the love of Crom, scrap the horrible looking Conan remake and start working on a King Conan movie.

Oh fuck. That Governator stuff was so bad it's unreal.
You know when you see something so corny, you have a visceral reaction?
Like you're so embarrassed for all the people involved, you feel it in the pit of your stomach?
