Re: Is it all over for Tom Cruise?

Cruise can come off as arrogant or simply too self confident, which I think turns people off. For what it's worth, he's never set off my gaydar, not that it matters. If he were gay and came out, I'd probably like him more. That said, I think he's a good, almost-great actor, and I truly believe he does it less because of raw talent and more through sheer force of will.

Re: Is it all over for Tom Cruise?

Always been a fan, and I don't see any reason not to continue to be. He works hard, and chooses good directors and crews to work with. Yeah, I think he could leave action films to just Mission Impossible from now on (Knight and Day was a waste, considering the possible dramas he had a choice of at the time). But hopefully he continues to diversify.

Regarding any personal life BS, honestly I find it a little repulsive the way some seem to focus so much on it. Really, he probably has one of the least interesting/dramatic personal lives compared to other celebs (same with Will Smith, Tom Hanks...etc) Marital issues/child custody are sadly a reality for many people...and it isn't anyone else's business.

Really, speculating on someone's sexual preferences? Bad enough to do that with someone you know...let alone someone you've never met. I just find the idea insulting... grow up.

Tom Cruise isn't going anywhere...
Umm what? Why did you list MI:5, Top Gun 2 and Van Helsing? Nowhere has it been confirmed that he has signed on to do those films(although MI5 is probably a given).

I find it funny that the first post to pick up after the release of Ghost Protocol skips right over it and uses Rock of Ages as proof his big hit days are over

Re: Is it all over for Tom Cruise?

I won't blame him for RoA. It's a fun theatrical play but I knew it wasn't meant for a mass audience. If Tom is at fault for anything, it's that he took it too seriously and should have just had fun with it like Baldwin did.

I've always felt he was a better actor than he was given credit. Always liked how his Jack Nicholson impression in 'A Few Good Men' was an improv and not scripted. That's why I dislike this distraction and wish he'd just dismiss it all with the truth.

It could be he's simply got no sex drive at all. Mimi implied this, didn't she? Whatever the story, he can't leave these rumors hanging out there. It's corrosive for him.

He can't what?

Why exactly does he need to do to make you gossip mongers happy concerning his sexuality? Is it really hurting his career? The guy's the highest paid actor in the world. You think he cares about some rumors by a bunch of chatty old ladies?

Seriously. A vast majority of people simply don't care about his personal life...at least not to the point of avoiding his movies. Which is as it should be.

Re: Is it all over for Tom Cruise?

All this blowback from his personal life will eventually take it's toll. He's already a laughing stock and the butt of jokes for many. His public spectacles are just too ripe for satire. Sure he still makes a ton of money and is a huge international star, but when his star comes crashing back to earth it's going to be epic and ugly.

Apparently Katie Holmes has changed her cell, email and fired assistants to escape this freak.

Many losers and old women, yes. People no one with a brain should be paying attention to, anyway.

Re: Is it all over for Tom Cruise?

My theory is that Cruise is so deep in the closet and ashamed that if it winds up being 100% proven - he'll probably wind up blowing his brains out. I think his denial has little to do with his career.

Yeah I've always liked Tom, but when he started taking Non-lead roles like this and started doing stuff that was outside of his normal roles I really started liking him a lot.

That said, he'll be fine. I think he did more damage to Kate's career than his own.

Yeah he'll never come out while he's alive.

He'll write a book that will be released after his death. That's when he'll come out.

Those claiming he is gay, what is it based on? Any proof whatsoever? Just curious.

For me, mostly other Gay people outing him. Some of the same folks that outed Anderson Cooper.

There was a Playboy interview years ago with Mimi Rogers where she said Tom Cruise was like a monk and they never had sex. She basically outed him. That's where it started...plus the Kyle Bradford story... and a bunch of other stories.
