Saw this at a film festival last year. It's good. I didn't totally love it. There's some incredible images and the music is very cool. I don't know, I don't want to give anything away, but I was just a little underwhelmed by it. Maybe I'll give it another shot when it's released.

wow I was just about to start a thread about this. I've watched the new trailer 25 times in the past few days. One of the best cold trailer watches I've ever seen. I can't wait to see it.

Okay, I just got back from the sold out show in Hollywood. Damn good film, but don't really know what it was about. Oppression is the main theme, I guess. The visuals and special fx work is top notch. It was great seeing it in a nice 35mm presentation, too. We had a nice introduction by writer-director Panos Cosmatos and Composer Jeremy Schmidt. It's a slow burn of a film, so please keep that in mind when watching the film. You gotta absorb the visuals.

yeah i just watched this at the Alamo Drafthouse last weekend. i didn't feel it was a great film... or even "good" for that matter; however, VERY worthwhile for one viewing solely for the marriage of sound and dazzling imagery. It's pitch-perfect for a director fanboy film, yet I felt the plot/story was haphazard. I can't wait to see this director approach someone else's script.

I saw this in Vancouver tonight, with the Director and a lot of the crew in attendance. I loved it. I might even go see it again. It's funny I first came upon the trailer from just randomly spotting it on the Apple trailers site. When I watched the trailer I thought one of the tunnels in the film looked exactly like the tunnel 2 blocks from my house. I thought that, and forgot about it. I mean, its just a random trailer on Apple right. Who knows where they made it. Well nope, it was the tunnel by my house because it was made where I live, here in Vancouver. I really hope it puts the independent film scene on the map here in Vancouver. because it's probably the best independent film to come out of Vancouver in a decade if not longer.

^Yup. Vancouver is used quite a lot, as is Toronto. Calgary, Banff, etc. gets used mostly for the goddamn beautiful mountains. 
Fun fact: the trailer has a line about a "better, happier you," which I'm pretty sure is a reference to Vancouver musician Matthew Good's song, Giant:

Well, this was certainly one of the more unique films I've seen as of late.
Cosmatos clearly fetishizes aesthetics, to the point where his film is essentially a series of hallucinatory, psychedelic episodes strung together by the barest of narratives.
Curiously, it pulls a Sunshine and practically becomes another film during the climax, much to my chagrin since the previous hour and change of the picture had set a definite, deliberate tone.
The score is fantastic - the love child of Alan Howarth and Fabio Frizzi. Heavy synth is a must for films of this type.
I was reminded of films such as THX-1138 and Altered States while watching it. In fact, if those two had a baby and that baby took acid, this would be it.
