What studio is the most consistent in quality?
What studio is the most consistent in quality? Or how influential do you think the studios are in terms of quality of work.
I always assumed fox was the worst, but looking at sony's website they've certainly produced their share of shit, they might even rival fox. So much of it is crap though, like 95% awful, awful shit, but looking at Warner Brothers only like 50% of it is crap.
In terms of quality Pixar and fox searchlight, imo, seems the best by far. But as far as a studio that makes the types of movies I would like to see it would probably be WB or Universal, but with them I always leave the theater disappointed and with pixar and fox I always leave happy.
So do you think there's a difference in studio or just does it just depend on directors/producers, etc.

Dreamworks is still fairly new to the game but I've enjoyed most of what I've seen from them. Though I loves me some Spielberg so I'm probably somewhat biased.

Let's not jump to conclusions, especially with it being PIXAR and all...
I'd tend to side with the idea that it depends more on the directors/producers then the studio. As long as the studio doesn't force it's agenda upon the filmmakers creativity and gives them the money they need; I don't see the studio label as being an issue.
Now, PIXAR is another story. Since they produce one film a year, they shouldn't be on the same playing field as say WB, which will produce a hundred or more films a year.

The output of a major studio is so vast and varies so much in quality that I can't make a judgment on the studio as a whole. I'd agree that Pixar is great, but it's kind of like letting a guy win the batting title despite falling well short of the minimum plate appearances. Obviously, it depends on the directors and producers, and that goes for Pixar as well because they have a great team.

Twelve years ago I would have said Miramax.

and make no mistake, pixar, works on more than one project at a time. however, they only release one flick at a time.

I'd go with Warner personally. Pixar does have a great output but in my mind they really aren't on the same level in comparison because of the fact they only release one film a year (whether they are working on more or not doesn't really matter in my opinion) as opposed to a major studio releasing many, many more than that.
