oh shit. He's lost weight since last I've seen him. Yeah. Get North. Last I saw him was in the Uncharted bonus material in the game disc. He was kind of...pudgy...still awesome..but...pudgy.

Does anyone watch Banshee on Cinemax? There's one scene when Antony Starr is pulling a heist in which he looks very Drake-like. Not sure he has the humor to pull it off, though.

Meh. I think we should all accept that this project is dead. For the best, probably. Apparently the folk at Naughty Dog weren't even going to consult on the project. Which explains the previous mobster family angle that was going to be attempted.

This could be an awesome series to adapt into movies though if it were done properly. I mean the series is essentially a modernized Indiana Jones. Personally I'd love to see it happen.

The only person who seemed to have a good grasp on the material, Neil Burger, jumped ship. Shame they don't simply get Breck Eisner and the screenwriting team of Sahara to make this into a movie.

Sahara? One of the biggest box office bombs of all time?
Just get Bradley Cooper to be in this. He looks like Drake and can easily pull off his cocky but charming persona. Sexiest Man Alive (TM) will draw in the ladies too. It gives the Oscar nominee an action franchise to call his own. Win win for everyone.

Almost 3 years later and we're still having the same conversation from post #1.

Sahara was a bomb due to extremely shady financing. They even got sued. Clive Cussler demanding his fans not see the movie because they used a script he didn't approve also didn't help matters.
That said, the film itself is a fun modern day flick with a pulp adventure feel to it. And I say this despite being a fan of the Dirk Pitt books.

EXCLUSIVE: Sony Pictures Entertainment is negotiating with Seth Gordon to direct Uncharted, the live action adaptation of the top selling PlayStation vidgame series Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. This brings the Horrible Bosses and Identity Thief helmer back to his origins, where he helmed the celebrated documentary King of King and immersed himself in video game culture.
The most recent script of Uncharted is by Safe House scribe David Guggenheim, and the studio was hot enough on that draft that they set him to write Bad Boys 3. The project has had several prominent filmmakers involved over the years, most recently David O Russell, before he left to helm the Roven-produced American Hustle, a Best Picture Oscar contender. Next step is to find a protagonist to play Nathan Drake, the treasure and antiquities hunter and descendant of the famed explorer Sir Francis Drake. With a female journalist and his mentor by his side, Drake attempts to find the lost treasure of El Dorado. It is a big scale adventure film.
The film is an Arad/Atlas Entertainment Production, produced by Charles Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, and Ari Arad. The game was developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment America, LLC. The intention of the producers and the studio is to get this into production later this year. Sony has long coveted the project for its tent pole potential. Jonathan Kadin and Hannah Minghella are overseeing for the studio. Gordon is repped by WME and Brillstein.

Re: Uncharted: The Movie (D: Seth Gordon)
Wasn't the documentary called King of Kong?
And are they still being stupid adapting the first game rather than telling an original story told in the same universe?
