yeah but Fangoria at the time ruined that scene by posting a pic of that demise in still form.

Traumatized me as a wee one.
in order for the film to get it's R-rating this scene was far more gorier - the kids head's pops open releasing a ton of blood and brain matter.

I thought the kid getting sliced up and dissected in Men Behind the Sun was really repellent.

I thought the drowning in the Omen II was very hard to watch, being stuck under the ice and no one being able to save him.

Ok, are you guys talking about the scene where the kid OD's in the bathroom and the relative yanks the syringe out his arm and cries for help?

Completely agree. I remember going into the film thinking it would be light fluff, and was blown away by the deep story.

Not grusome but I thought The Orphange was pretty disturbing when
Spoiler:
we find out what happened to Simon. When his mother realizes she accidently locked him in the basement which ultimately led to his death, it was just heartbreaking.

Re: Most Shocking Child Deaths in Films?

It's already been mentioned, so I guess it's not a spoiler, but for me the hardest to watch was the end of Pan Labyrinth. Not particularly "shocking", but more truly moving and upsetting. The sight of that little chalk door just kills me.

Also, I have to mention Grave of the Fireflies. The entire set up and delivery is devastating. Again, not shocking I guess, more haunting. I don't think I can never watch that film again, it's just too much.

In terms of "shocking", I'd say the implied death of the little girl in Watchmen is pretty awful. The film effectively conveyed how it made Rorshack lose his mind. It's absolutely repellent and sad at the same time.

Stakeland. The flashback where we see Mister save the kid. In the barn, up in the rafters. That was pretty shocking. My pregnant wife didn't care for that too much.

Didn't Lil'Ze in City of God shoot some children point blank? Don't remember if they died though.

Re: Most Shocking Child Deaths in Films?

Jack Ketchum's: The Girl Next Door. For some reason this movie, not thats its a great movie, but it has stayed with me since I saw it.

Most movies I have seen in this thread, and I have a hard time even remembering the deaths, unless they were funny.
