Re: Tony Curtis Has Passed Away

[QUOTE=Sex Fiend;10402624]Agreed... great film, great performance. Both he and Burt Lancaster (at the height of their stardom) playing two of the slimiest characters in movie history - not colorful/fun villains, but out and out creeps. Pretty daring career move for both actors as leading-men types during that era. Tony will always get props from me for that, as well as his willingness to take on other less-than-likable character roles (The Defiant Ones, The Boston Strangler) during a period when that wasn't always the best career-choice for a Hollywood star.

Could not agree more. He was brilliant in The Boston Strangler, when that kind of psychology was just starting to be explored. A seriously underrated actor.

Although he was a favourite actor of ours, I will always remember him as "The Great Leslie"! (I have been working on that eye and smile twinkle for YEARS.)

The Great Race is one of my favorite comedies. The Boston Strangler is fantastic. Tony Curtis should have been a bigger star. Sad news indeed.

THE PERSUADERS was a good t.v. role for him.

Hell yeah it was.

Caveat squeamish: gratuitous split-screen, ascot

Where's that unnecessary movie adaptation, Stiller & Coogan?
