Guess That Movie By Screenshot (12 + 1)

I also visit here all the time but guessing or researching clues for most of these movies is usually hopeless. I think a great thing would be for people who come here and like playing (but can't begin to guess movies like Passages from James Joyce's Finnegans Wake) to take the wildcards and steer the game in a more accessible direction.

I'm relatively knowledgeable in a movie trivia sense but I have no clue on screenshots, plus almost all of these movies are too obscure even though they seem to be acclaimed films for the most part.
Also is it just me or was the name of Finnegan;'s Wake posted in one of the screen shots. seemed like it was too obvious to be the name of the movie.

Garden State
Get Shorty
Ghost in the Shell (1 and 2)
Ghostbusters (1 and 2)
Gigli
Glitter
Goldfinger
Gone Baby Gone
Gone with the Wind
Grosse Point Blank
Groundhog Day
Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner
The Gumball Rally
That’s 15/40 or 38% that I would say are pretty well known (granted that’s a completely subjective judgement), and I suspect that percentage would hold up for all the titles. Also, this is a movie-oriented board, and the readers are far more familiar with movies that the population at large wouldn’t know at all.
Anyone is welcome to take an available wildcard and post an easier movie, which I think is an absolute remedy to complaints that the movies are too “out there.” However, I think a deterrent to posting easier shots is that they tend to get guessed very quickly, and part of the appeal of the game is (I think) the cat-and-mouse interaction with the other players over the course of posting a number of pictures, which is lost when something gets guessed immediately. That’s why I think I’m going to try the handicapping idea at some point to see if it will give some other players a chance on an easier selection of shots. It may not work at all.

So if they get guessed in 2 or 3 shots then it gets the game moving more quickly and doesn't have just the same 3 or so people doing all the guessing.
I haven't ventured in here for awhile and didn't See the posts for Wake before the answer, I saw the record soundtrack posted with the name of the movie so I guess that was put there after the correct guess.
Just my opinion, not trying to say anything is wrong here at all.
As I said, mostly pointless for me anyway since I don't do screenshots, So I'll just continue to enjoy looking at the pictures.

We’ve had plenty of more recent and/or well known movies. Out of 40 titles starting with “G” (from Page 1 of this thread), I’d count these as pretty mainstream:
Garden State
Get Shorty
Ghost in the Shell (1 and 2)
Ghostbusters (1 and 2)
Gigli
Glitter
Goldfinger
Gone Baby Gone
Gone with the Wind
Grosse Point Blank
Groundhog Day
Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner
The Gumball Rally

Hey, I can see a screenshot! (They're usually all blocked at work but they must have missed this server).
In honor of this event, I will guess The Mosquito Coast, even though it may not match the other (unseen by me) shots.

I'll just burn off my last guess with The Story of Dr. Wassell (1942).

^--I mentioned that your first guess was too early but your second guess is a movie from the same year?
