IMDB title/actor pages re-layout
Disclaimer: IMDB IS allowing users to preference the old layout style:
Sign in, click on Your Account in the upper right hand corner, click on Site Preferences, and check the first option.
Why?
Why do major websites decide that complete re-layouts are a good thing? IMDB has changed over the years, but the format of the title/actor pages has been pretty consistent. I know they added the actors thumbnail pictures about a year ago or so, that was a small, but ok change. There is no need to completely destroy the way it was! It was damn near perfect. Change is not always a good thing!
sigh...Now it is a cluttered mess until you scroll down a page or two.

Hmm.... Glad at least one person saw it. Mine looks completely different than just a day or two ago.
Here's a screenshot:

^^^
Haven't seen it that way yet, still looks regular to me.
However, I do not like that new format. When I go to the IMDB, it's for info, not for pictures and video.

As long as they mess with the iPod app, I don't really care too much, although I do agree that it looks pretty ugly, with too much reliance on pictures and clips.

What also sucks is they removed some links from the side of the page, like Company Credits. So now you have to scroll to the very bottom of the page where they put that link in the footer. Terrible.
It's obvious from the change that they want to move IMDB from a pure database site to a content site.

At home, it looks the same as it always has, but at work it recently switched to the much inferior look as in the screenshot above. I assumed the look changed for those not logged in, since that was the main difference that I noticed, but i see that in the screenshot you are logged in, so obviously that hypothesis doesn't work.

Very strange occurrence for me. The new IMDB layout was active in my browser last night and earlier this morning, but it reverted back to the old design a bit later in the morning.
Did IMDB backpedal, or are you guys still seeing the new design?

Re: IMDB title/actor pages re-layout
I never saw the new layout (except in this thread), and I pretty much visit IMDB every day. Always looked the same to me.
