It was cut; I didn't see it either.
As for anyone who gets offended... well, that's the kind of person who shouldn't be seeing this in the first place. I'm a white American, and I thought it was a riot!

I had a mixed reaction to the film. Maybe I'll enjoy it more with a second viewing. Generally speaking, I absolutely 100% love anything by Rodriguez. Here's my review: http://cinemadailies.com/2010/09/04/machete-2010/

Machete was just okay. I think Jamie S. Rich's DVD Talk review of the film is as spot on as you can get. Was it fun? Sure. But it all seemed rather pointless and I was often disinterested in the story. Robert Rodriguez has never been what I have wanted him to be. That's selfish of me, but frustrating at the same time. He totally gets what kinds of movies, characters, and content that I'd love to see, but time and time again I find fault in his actual execution.
Will I get the Blu Ray when it comes out? For sure, but I once again feel like Rodriguez has come up short.

And it all started from this. I loved how the whole Grindhouse film had to live up to this trailer cuz they had to start it w/ this. I was laughing like a crazy motherfucker at this thing....

That was a great nod to classic blaxploitation flicks. There's always an evil white guy in a suit and he's usually involved in distributing drugs.

It was everything I hoped it would be and definitely lived up to my expectations.

This was very awesome! Loved the Ice Cream cart guy and there were some very funny parts but just as many that didn't work as well as they should, like how none of the lowriders had an awesome horn.

This movie delivers.
Packed full with characters, they couldn't do much more than offer a couple 'moments' for each character. But the buildup and reveal is what I find awesome in movies. The actual action events are rarely interesting.

Awesome...we had a great time. And that's what counts when you shell out for a movie these days.
Bummer was that a few parents brought their, albeit thankfully well behaved, little kids to this film which was about as close to an NC-17 as one could imagine. Shameful and selfish. HIRE A BABYSITTER.

I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a sequel where Sh้ was the focus (although the reveal of her as Sh้ with the eyepatch should have never been featured in ads, it would have been an epic character reveal). Michelle Rodriguez is a great action star and I felt she was really underused in that final scene; the swivel holster with the sawed off shotgun was beyond awesome.

Like I mentioned before, it's like all of the characters have their own 'moments' in the movie. But a movie trying to flesh out a character probably wouldn't work. All of the underlying imagination disappears when we're given too much. Kind of like Terminator: Salvation, the Matrix sequels, etc. I think that "wouldn't that be awesome" longing is better than actually having the material delivered.

Uhm.....it's not Desperado....he's El Mariachi
Also...does anyone know anything about Maniquis? He's the co-director on this film and all I know from him is that he's been a longtime editor w/ Rodriguez. I've yet to see him in any interviews and whatnot. It's all RR from what I've seen.

I don't know why they kept pronouncing her name as "She" instead of "Shay" since it is written as Sh้. I thought it was a nod to Che until they ruined it with the stupid pronunciation. I really enjoyed the movie and only ask that they get rid of the Johnny Depp wannabe pansy they had playing as the son of Johnson's character. That guy had asshat written all over.
