I think this thread would have a little more weight behind if if Michael Cera was trying to come off as an actor with great range. He freely admits he's not a great actor and has stated before he will probably retire from acting before long. He realizes what he does is basically a one trick pony. Why not throw some genuine hate at somebody who is the opposite...an actor who shows no range but tries to come off as if they are a great actor? Sandra Bullock and Julia Roberts, I am looking your way to start...

Also though my friends all love the show, I've only watched like 2-3 episodes of Arrested Development, so all my annoyance has come from the films I've seen him in.

He wasn't as bad in Scott Pilgrim though.

I don't get all the hate. I can understand people not liking a certain actor and feeling the need to say so, but so much negativity and what seems to even be hatred from some people... all of this is lost on me. I don't agree with it. He's not an incredible actor but he's done a good job in several movies, and his comic timing is impeccable. For that I can already imagine myself as always being a fan. I hope he stay's around.

Didn't know that but that kinda stuff doesn't bother me. I don't care if he makes more money than me or fucks beautiful women. What bothers me most is that he just plays a nerdy douche in all his films.

Eh. She looks good there, with loads of make up, but she didn't look that good in Funny People or Parks and Rec. Not saying she's not attractive but she's certainly not attractive enough for me to be jealous of the guy dating her.

There are people that actually thought Scott Pilgrim looked good and were surprised that it tanked? The trailers for this made it look terrible. And Cera seems able to only play one character. And he plays that same character in every single movie that he is in. Gets annoying after the second or third time. Plus, it doesnt help that that one character he is able to play, is an annoying whiny little bitch that most peiople would want to kick in the teeth as soon as he opened his mouth and let the first whine out.

I like Cera, he plays the dorky kid well. Yeah it's the same role in every movie, but some movies actually call for that role. He did a good job in both Scott Pilgrim and Youth in Revolt as the fighter / alter egos.

I saw the name on the pic url and ignored it as I ssumed it was the name of where the shot was taken. :lol:

EDIT: Looking at her bio, the only thing in which I might have seen her is an episode of Supernatural but I don't remember her at all.

As others have said, yes, he plays the same character, but he plays it very well. Most of his films have been crap that I wouldn't bother with anyway, but if he plays himself well in a movie or two a year it won't bother me, as long as he fits the part.

Well, she may have played more roles, which I don't know about. But she's basically the female Cera whenever I see her (Parks and Recreation, Funny People, talk shows).

He can't act. He's boring. He looks like a girl. He's annoying. Scott Pilgrim, both comic and movie sucked. He's more girly than all the girls that's he's been in movies with. Need I go on ?

I hated him until I saw Scott Pilgrim. Now I just can't picture anyone else playing the part.

I first saw him in Superbad (which oddly, I loved), so I checked out Arrested Development the next day and fell in love (with Arrested Development, not him). Anyway, he's hilarious in AD and Superbad, so I still like him for those things.
